Charles Seife wrote an expose called Hawking Hawking, which I found out about from this blog post (also read the book reviews linked there). I think everyone who worked in a related area knew he essentially stopped working after the ALS put him in a wheelchair, but the publicity was so good they didn't say anything. He wouldn't let his students write single-author papers and insisted on having his name on things he contributed nothing to. He "gave" a lecture conceding a bet about the black hole information paradox that was essentially nonsense.

A lot of people are not going to read Seife's book because they want to keep believing in the fictionalised version of Hawking that people collectively agreed to create.

Not to derail too much, but there are murders and there are murders, and not all of them are deserving of life in prison. Sometimes, someone was fucked with so viciously by someone else that they finally snapped and killed them, but it wasn't legally justification enough.

There's no conceivable situation where someone has an excuse for pimping out children to pedophiles. She's lucky to have even a chance of seeing the sunshine again.

Federal parole isn't a thing any more. It's been abolished. She just gets good time credit unless she gets the sentence changed on appeal or habeas.

It's a simple question. Only cases I can think of are people dying of cancer and the like. Sometimes they get lucky and live longer than expected.

Also DAs have nothing to do with federal prosecutors. DAs are county level.

I don't know which on, but Virginia retracted her claim on Derschowitz. Possibly because Epstein lied about someone being him. When she was shown pictures of Alan Derschowitz she was genuinely confused because she never seen him before. There's also another Jane Doe denying everything and trying her best to muddy the water and is a clear paid off bad actress. The reality is, Alan Derschowitz is probably innocent. But if he is, the rest of this just became a nightmare to examine because that means Epstein has been lying about who he's bringing to his island which brings doubt to every non household face.

I don't know whether he's actually guilty but I wouldn't put anything past that snake.
