there has been rumors going around that they planning on making a Remake/Remaster of Dragon age origins.

please dont.
Flashback Dog Viet.gif
I truly hope it is only rumors. I'm starting to have flashback of BG1&2 remastered debacle and the following removal of the originals from store.

I wanted to laugh at DA4 for the potiential dumbsterfire it could be. Now I am starting to wish DA4 will flop hard with true malicious intent this time, just to spare this licence anymore harm.

Do they even have the money or team to do anything beyond the usual "Enhanced Edition" shit older games get? I hope not.

Depends if Beamdog gets the money to steal the license from EA. My guess is no, though.

Yeah, but it is the BioWare of today and EA we are talking about. After all what they have done I would not be surprise if they did pulled a Beamdog

Aren't they already quite busy with DA4?
read a post on /v/ (i know, its 90% that its fake but you never know) from a beta taster that has played the "alpha version" of the game and shared a bit of info.

>The Game is currently scheduled to release in Q2 2025. It's in very advanced stage of production, but there's still a lot of stuff missing, mostly textures. Bioware needs this game to sell dozens of millions and impress gaming audiences, which is why it's taking so long.
>game takesp lace mostly on Tevinter and Arlathan and it's surroundings. Weisshaupt is your main camp/base this time.
>It plays very similarly to with an improved Inquisition UI.
>In the story you are a Grey Warden under Weisshaupt (you can pick Elven, Human, Dwarve, Kossith). The main story is about stoping the remaining two Archdemons (Lusacan, Razikale) and Solas.
>The Archdemons will be revealed to be the Elven Gods. They are trapped in a dragon's body as a punishment by Solas (like the spirit Harkkon was trapped in a Dragon's Body, they lost their elven bodies and need new ones). Solas hates the Grey Wardens because they are freeing them.
>Lusacan and Razikale have lower halves of squids and humanoid upper halfs, they are the Act I and ACT II main bosses. Solas is the boss for Act III.
>By the end of the game the Fade will be broken, the Blight will be stopped and everyone will become mages. The Dragon Age will end and The Dreamers Age will began. This game will end the franchise storyline.

he also had info on Mass Effect 4

>No release date as of yet. My guess is 2030 due to current internal affairs, the game is in pre-alpha. I didn't get to test it.
>The game picks off at the end of ME3 (It will only consider the Destroy Ending Canon)
>Main villains will be the Geth and Leviathans.
>New protagonist N7
>Wrex, Liara, Garrus will be back.

here is the info he gave on the remake

Dragon Age : Origins Remake (REORIGINS)

[Picture taken not from my computer. My phone sucks sorry]

>Very early in production.
>Currently planned to be a Dead: Space style Remake (1:1) that mostly adds and improves new gameplay stuff rather than story stuff.
>Main goal of the game is to have insane branching paths for player choices for stuff that already existed in the original.

That didn't stop Bioware from releasing ME Legendary.

The DA4 team has spent ten years making teasers. They have to be running short on cash. An Origins remaster could be a quick infusion, especially if it was a lazy one like ME2 with graphics upscaling and nothing else.

Well if any of this is true Bioware is probably dead. In what world do they think they can sell 12 million copies of a game when all they've done in the past decade is release flops and destroy their brand image? For reference on how ridiculous that goal is Bioware's last game Anthem had a goal of 6 million and failed to even reach that.

Yes you do, this is 100% fake as it's blatantly just a larp. By some faggot who is clueless.
>yeah bro, we just need more of DA TEXTURES
lmao

Most of the thing is talking about ebin lore&story shit, while barely brushing on gameplay, which is the most basic mistake larpers make when they write fake leaks.

they could've reached that in the long term and then leech MTX. SWTOR did it a decade earlier. however EA doesn't want long term money anymore, so even stuff with potential get killed off if it doesn't bring in the big bucks ASAP.

PRESS A BUTTON, AWESOME HAPPENS. BUTTON, AWESOME. BUTTON, AWESOME.

That my friends was the beginning of the end for BioWare. Now they're just a weird zombie shuffling around in a crude mockery of life.
to be fair, that was on the height of the cod-kiddie craze where everything needed to be simple and AWESOME!!1

tbh it wasn't even the biggest issues of DA2, the retarded ending and castrated development time leading to massive reduction in environments etc. was what people annoyed a lot more.

Whatever slop Bioware intends to release, they will be compared against BG3, for good or ill.

That expectation alone will ensure DA4 will be DOA.

Well the red ending for ME is the only ending I ever picked. The endings all sucked but that was the only "choice" that made any sense. Just kill the fucking Reapers and be done with it.

It was also hilarious that destroy is the only ending where you have a unique cutscene of Shep breathing. The green and blue options did not even show a moment of a Shep force ghost blowing in the wind. It was like Bioware was telling players those other choices were retarded.

Yea, you'd have to be a sadist to choose Blue or Green. Having Shep be in control of the Reapers would fuck him/her up, and synthesizing everyone is such a weird option and could honestly lead to danger with a little thought.

And why should you even trust anything that space kid had to say about synthetics and humans fighting? He explains that they've been fighting forever when you just recently ended the war with the Geth.

This is classic Bioware style romance. One wrong dialog choice and next thing you know your character is involved in a fag romance triggering a cutscene of implied sodomy or whatever. Mass Effect series had a few that were hilarious. Like the mechanic would ask you "can you hand me the wrench?" and if you said "I could help you with other stuff" you'd be instantly in a fag relationship without realizing that you just chose a romance dialog choice.

The thing with romance is that Bioware designs it to be easy to trigger for an average or novice player. It cannot be hidden behind tons of dialog trees and obscure mechanics. They want it so that the NPC initiates some romance option and you can say 'yes' or 'no. So half of the NPCs are acting like street hookers desperate for sex to feed their coke habits and throwing themselves at you constantly because Bioware wants romance to be a major aspect of their game worlds. And also because the game is designed so that the players don't miss any content including romance options.
I’m sorry but how autistic do you have to be to “accidentally” trigger a romance? What “other stuff” do you think that line refers to? Imagine saying that to a friend IRL. I’ve played all of these games plus BG3 and it is always very, very obvious to a when your character is flirting or being hit on even without the little heart indicating THIS IS A ROMANCE OPTION RETARD.

I’ve seen so many posts along the lines of “I thought we were just good bros and suddenly he’s fucking me in the ass!” meanwhile the dialog option that triggers that scene is *I am gay and want you to fuck me in the ass (stick your tongue down his throat)*.

Depends on the game, really. In ME3 you can end up in a romance with Steve Cortez from telling the dude to take some time off so he doesn't work himself to death. The saving grace is the romance is very understated until the actual kissing, so you may not even realize you're in it. Yes, there are lots of autistic, complaining BioWare fans, but there's shitty writing to spare.

You can be sure to blame the retards that added the dialog wheel and thought adding (sometimes) abstract illustration to show the emotion used in certain dialogs.

May be if some folks at BioWere could open a good book once in their life, they could finaly see that hacking your dialog sentences is profoundly idiotic. That just writting the whole sentence with the intonation/emotion used can just do the trick.

For exemple, you are talking to your companion who commited an big mistake.
Choice 1."Oh I am going to kill you !" Says your character with anger
Choice 2."Oh I am going to kill you !" Says your character while laughing earthily with your companion

It always comes down to bad game design, bad writting and laziness.

Pillars of Eternity came close to it with its "reputation/behavior" system but it was not perfect either unfortunately.
DOS2 also had something which was not too stupid either, lazy may be but not completly stupid. Some of your dialog/sentences were vague enough you could imagine easily what could be said while passing your stat check.

Yeah, the entire game was a disaster, and somehow Flemeth the GMILF wound up the least disappointing part of it.

I mean...really? I trust your opinions on the topic more than most users, but if memory serves Cortez tells you very early on about his late husband which theoretically should clue your average dunderhead that he's the gay romance option. And I would assume just based on the way romances in Mass Effect tend to progress that if you somehow give him the wrong idea anyway you can still back out without issue. That said, I only played Femshep and didn't talk much with Cortez (it felt like the writers were trying so hard to avoid stereotyping that they forgot to make him interesting) so I will fully admit that I could be wrong.

The only game where I really remember these context issues being a problem is Fallout 4, and dialogue barely mattered in that game anyway.

Oh, there's no question about that, I just found it surprising that giving the guy moral support so he doesn't commit suicide by burnout qualified as "Steve, I'd like to polish your squeakhole." It really is an understated romance, to the point I'm still not 100% sure I was in it. Certainly he doesn't have the rejection meltdown you get from Anders in DA2 or even Liara if you try to keep her romance going at the same time as rekindling one with one of your ME2 flings.

Really, both gay romance options are kinda badly written in ME3. Steve's is barely there (you say he's uninteresting; I think they were just trying to make him professional, at which they ... sort of succeed); Traynor uses all the same flirtatious lines and intonations for a male Shep as a fem Shep, so if you're a dude she comes across as a cocktease. She's even got the cringe inducing hot tub scene in Citadel for a male Shep! For all the queer pride BioWare loves to brag about, they were really finding their feet when it came to gay only romance options back in 2012.

There's an infamous mod for Fallout 4 that replaces the cryptic dialogue options with transcripts of what your character will actually say. In a shocking number of instances, 3/4ths of your dialogue options turn out to be identical.

Agreed. Steve and Samantha were added simply to have gay romances in the game. How they were written were thrown out on top of most of the quality of the game.
