I haven't listened to all of these, but at ~7:10 of the second one, Mike claims that he was sexting with Elaine while pretending to be Null. Not sure if that fact's already out there or not, just wanted to make a note of it.

Is there anything else beyond this that points to Mike being the one that catfished Elaine into cutting herself? Or is there any info that points away from Mike? I'm extremely rusty on the Thurlow lore, it's been a while.

When it happened people automatically blamed Thurlow because it seemed on brand for him but Elaine swore up and down it wasn't Mike who orchestrated it. Some believed her, others didn't. There's never been any solid evidence outside of what Elaine has been willing to provide, and she has changed her story so many times.

Personally I sometimes wonder if there ever was a catfish that got her to go that far. Maybe Mike put the idea in her head after he started fucking with her, and she went to that extreme herself. The sad thing is there are many plausible stories because Elaine is unreliable when it comes to honesty but also crazy enough to take things too far in the name of seeking attention.

Again....it isn't necessarily confirmation that someone coerced or catfished her into cutting herself. She was coerced into sexting multiple times, into weird ass roleplaying and spilling secrets but there's no real indication that anyone told her to do the shit she did to herself. The thing with BPD is someone can plant the idea in her head by behaving in a certain way towards her but the mental illness takes it to a new extreme.

I would think if she actually had incriminating evidence of a dude trying to get her to do crazy shit and she realized they were fucking with her she would drag them up and down the street and have evidence.
