Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Kiwifarms is much more well-known: a forum that exists with the sole purpose of providing amusement by tormenting people. Kiwifarms, much like the most disreputable parts of imageboards, knows no limits, with inflicting misery on people treated as an end in itself. A thread on Kiwifarms ostensibly dedicated to targeting the Hearts of Iron IV community – but focused heavily on TNO – has become a repository of doxx information and leaks. The site’s reputation speaks for itself: this is a site that intentionally attempts to cause as much misery as possible to people for the sole benefit of entertainment. This is a site that has driven at least one person to suicide through relentless harassment and doxxing. This is a site that revels in the worst behaviour humanity can offer. Reliability to these people means nothing, and morality in their actions certainly is not held up to any notable standard either given how they have treated so many people, now including several people aboard our own team.

Well on a lighter note, after having spent a couple years sneering at the various mod makers and their trooner-groomer-coomer escapades, not to mention all the self professed fanboys who like to LARP as srs geopolitical/military analysts and thinkers, both here on the farms and elsewhere, I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy HOI4 on the steam sale and I gotta say....its brettygud for someone whose closest equivilent experience was the campaign map of Medieval 2 Total War like 20 years ago.

Feel free to start the countdown to me trooning out and spending the next few years pretending to be a radical anarchist-stalinist-prussian-monarchist-uwu-chungus-wholesome-lefunni and frequenting various discord rooms of ill repute

Yeah, and from the last week or so of playing for the first time I can already see countless ways how one could create all manner of creative and innovative mods for anything from changing the setting to alternate history

....ya know....if not for the factor of the whole modding community being a seething next of genderqueer vipers more interested in edgelord LARPing and political/social/literal masturbation fantasies than making anything worth a shit

And this is why I don't bother engaging with the fanbase. There are a lot of good mods out there, but they're drowned out in the sea of garbage pumped out by some tranny LARPer.
 
The thing with Paradox games is that they are good, even if each title wends up with 100 dollars of mandatory DLC (I cannot complain here, I bought every essential CK2 DLC during Steam Sales), it's just the communities these people attract. I'm sure certain games are more troon prone and shit. CK2's seems pretty inoffensive only because the community is large. HOI4 though is infested with troons, commies, and a very tiny minority of Wehraboo/Kaiserboo LARPers that the last two groups pretend are everywhere.

Vicky 2 is the most kino only because you have to be especially retarded to even try and pretend you know what you are doing in that game, also it's so old and the two DLC are so cheap it's probably the best Paradox title to play on a budget and has some pretty great mods. As someone who has sunk a lot of time into it, Vicky 2 is what Panzer should have put TNO on like he had planned originally.

He's still around and tried to get his submod merged into the main mod last autumn.
It took calling him and a few others pushing the submod with him niggers and threats to cause even more drama for him to fuck off.

Anyway, there seems to be some more autism relating to the Ice Cold (IIRC) mod, or rather the developer Wicked, who seems to be targeting a number of mods, mainly those present in the recently revived "Association of HoI4 Mods" Discord server (another group pissed they can't get accepted into the Modding Coop so they made their own with blackjack and hookers, destined to die off in a matter of months most likely). These include mods like:

- Make America Again (yet another "what if 2ACW guys?" mod)
- Eigengrau (recently became a laughingstock of the Modding Coop thanks to the schizo hijinks of its lead dev, Stürmax, likely a Finnish nationalist, certainly a child based on his behavior)
- Also at least one "bigger" mod, Over the Horizon, which I believe is also a member of the Modding Coop
- etc

Teaser mods all around, of course. So far, from what I've gathered, Wicked has managed to leak at least two mods, United No More and Red Dusk (cant really vouch for the content of those Workshop files, won't catch me playing shitty mods any day of the week), which can apparently also be found on a GitHub somewhere.

But yeah, I'm not too familiar with this ongoing thing, long story short its just D-tier mods fighting amongst themselves as usual. And for those uninitiated, this seems to be related to that whole pedo thing with Masked Hungarian and that lot that happened a while back.
