[Resolved] Domain Registrar & Epik's Seizure

I'm not entirely sure why we quickly made the switch to .hk but the timing makes me feel that China contacted null and offered to host the site in exchange for something. Maybe they are using the opportunity to analyze how Americans pull off DDoS attacks or find the various methods used to deplatform kiwifarms interesting. Kermit may end up being responsible for teaching China how to do really good cyberwarfare against American interests.
Either way, it probably means we'll be up for some time here as Kermit may not have a lot of success "girl talking" the Chinese government.

It's just a domain. None of the DDoS network traffic is passing through Hong Kong unless one of the hacked/compromised systems used in the DDoS is in Hong Kong.

At worst, what will happen is that whatever Chinese agency administers the HK TLD will get a lot of abuse complaints. My hope is that they ignore them and blackhole any tickets or emails that mention KF (not hard to do, any ticket system can do keyword filtering, even if you have to make several filters to catch all the permutations).

What is the best alternative to Epik now? I wish to move all of my domains. (A couple of which need free speech)
 
They've had a pro-Ukraine banner up for the duration of the war, so I am not surprised. I'm also not Russian, have never been to Russia, but have lived in Odessa for a year and have contacts in Kyiv. We never got booted off Vsys, and in fact they remained some of our most dedicated helpers until upstream ISPs took everything out of their hands. I'm not worried.

I had a reading comprehension fail because I got to the end of the quoted sections and still wasn't sure what domain they'd actually dropped.

It makes a lot more sense re: The Daily Stormer and Charlottesville in context after opening up the link and learning the post is from 2017.
