General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Seems it was just a breach of NDA.

I'm connected to the voice acting world and unfortunately, companies go to the extremes to make examples out of people if they even think you breached it.

More recently, there was this one voice actor who did a tiktok heavily implying he was a part of an upcoming show and it essentially ended with the studio not only firing him but putting a leash on all the other voice actors who are connected to that show.

All that aside, this doesn't really paint the most hopeful picture of 2024 imo

Something similar happened here when a VA was caught not only having an affair but also leaking his wife (a relatively famous singer)'s unreleased song tracks to his side chick, whilh ended with him having several lucrative voice roles nuked and eventually quietly leaving his agency. It doesn't matter how stupid you are, but breaking NDAs are probably the most surefire way to lose your job outside of committing violent/sexual crimes.

Yuuuup.
That said, over her considering it wasn't that long ago that she was dealing with a perverted member of the company breathing down her throat all the time.

There's clearly a lot of baggage here, so I wouldn't be surprised if something was told to one of her many friends and confidants.

Poor banpire reached her final form. It is sad to see such a foundational member go this way. I do hope you all have ammo and canned goods on hand. I'm just saying, the last time this happened Russia invaded Ukraine and the US did just bomb Yemen...
The swift termination implies the severity of the action committed, either she talked about something bad, or she talked to the wrong person. Possibly even both
I imagine after all the Rushia bullshit they're not pulling any punches and got a hair trigger. Mel doesn't even have the excuse of not knowing how'd Cover would react.

It appears she wasn't fired, but mutually agreed with management to terminate her contract.

From the official hololive subreddit posted by a member of hololive staff.

The omitted that part by mistake from the first english statement release.

not even hairtrigger, company had to deal with it in the past and if they have at last someone remotely smart employed they'll have a policy afterwards how to deal with it, plus ample warning to other talent what happens when you fuck up. hence the swift action since there's no deliberation needed.

that being said I doubt it was malicious or anything, shit happens but in the end it was still her responsibility to take care it doesn't. sucks but that's how it goes sometimes.

thats just more coprate speak to make both sides look better.
usually, but she was still allowed to write her own message. we gotta wait and see if and how hard mel gets purged from the roster.

Actually allowed to make a statement through a letter, then it's probably a lot better than Rushia IMO.

By the way does anybody have a past life information

I linked it earlier in the thread, she goes by Rica and did/does ASMR and music
Definitely a loss for her as far as just like an "easy career" sort of thing. Overall though I wager she'll be fine she's never really stopped her activities on her old utaite account and she'll likely end up going back there, where we might even see her popping up with folks like Choco who's still active on her PL as well and Kson both of whom she's publicly done things with on her PL account as well.

Skiddosaur karaoke.
Later Trexie with another Warhammer stream
Some more random vtuber stuff I found:
Italian/Braziltuber did a watchalong of Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster. She is planning to do more watchalongs from the Godzilla series.
Some solid covers from our favorite and least favorite metal vtubers.
That one vtuber I linked a while ago has started reviewing the Dungeon Meshi anime episode by episode.
I haven't been following the new season of Fishtank but here is a vtuber interviewing the one girl who had a mental breakdown over voice mail. It's um...well let's say that it reminds me a lot of the conversation that has been going on over the past few days on the Metokur thread. Is 4chan just tumblrites and controlled opposition now?
I know it's come up before but I really like this cover. I listened to the original and it sounds familiar but I'm not sure if I've actually heard it before or if it just reminds me of some really old school metal songs, particularly this one:
