Catching back up on his whole Mystery Membership Bomb saga, this dude flat out told his audience “don’t gift memberships because I don’t get any benefit from it in the short term.” It’s the same thing he got into trouble with Twitch about, back when he was doing those dumb fundraiser streams, and he got into trouble with bits. He was telling people not to buy bits cause they didn’t help him in the short term.

It’s so hilarious that he continues to shoot himself in the hoof when it comes to badmouthing the companies who provide for him. He did it with YouTube before, he did it with Machinima, and he did it with Twitch, now he’s doing it once again to YouTube.

There are rumors on reddit (yea i know) that some of the new donations and membership bombs are being done with the argentinian currency, that is pretty much worthless and it might be a troll trying to get Phil to overspend, not realizing that hes getting much less money that what appears at first.

If its true we will have a rage incoming but im not very smart on the topics of donations in different currency so it might be wrong, but this donation is apparently 6 cents

Also that spanish is very dogshit, probably google translate.

edit: another guy just supperchatted another 6 cents with argentinian currency, they will probably continue until they cause Phil to rant about how argentinia money should count as much as real money or something retarded like that

My suspicion is this is the 'unspecified issue' that is causing Phil to be sick and not get any sleep. He doesn't want to talk about it because it would advertise it as a direct, low cost, easy troll.

This Phil conspiracy of memberships not being given because there are not enough live chatters sounds very stupid, i know that at least in twitch it doesnt work like that, i think its more likely some of those memberships were gifted with argentinian money (if youtube lets you do that but no idea).
That would give him less US dollars overall and thats why he thinks some of the youtube memberships were rejected.
Just right now the same argentinian trolls are ramping up the 50 fake superchats, but they are kinda obvious now that they are spamming them and Phil looks like he knows its fake money, hes not jumping with joy at the thought of getting ¨hundreds of dollars¨ and is kinda ignoring them.

Don't forget Phil retconning he ever shit on Max Dood for putting a simple tribute in a video for his dog, which Phil got pissy over and accused him of monetizing and abusing his dog's memory. It's possible it's jst memberships bought in shit currency, but Phil recently watched all the people getting them in chat and basically bitched and moaned about how YouTube clearly owes him money now and was one step away from being accusatory. He was using the same tone when Warzone bounties were a thing and he was demanding their payment.

If it actually is all shit currencies, Phil will just blame the trolls when it's likely it is OIC trying to inflate Phil even more.

As someone who also speaks spanish, that's google translate spanish, no Spanish speaking person talks like that unless they are a dent. Which means that some gayops must be afoot.

once in twitch i got a sub to a 10 viewers guy i literally never visited, also a few times i get a sub in twitch to channels i have not visited in some time.
Youtube could perfectly do those things, although i dont know if thats the case, it could also just give the membership to one of his 200.000 dead subs for example, there are a lot of alternatives, it would be stupid for youtube to just reject the gifted memberships, they would be losing money for no reason

youtube makes you physically go in an hit a button that allows for your account to be elligible for gifted memberships in general, youtube then only gives out gifted memberships to non-members that are (or have been in the past X time) active in the chat. DSP puts an arbitrary 24 hour timer on the ability to participate in chat, so it's just him fucking himself, again. It's the simplest and most likely solution why DSP is so mad about the behind the scenes bomb not panning out, the currency exchanges are a seperate matter that I have no knowledge of.

Funny thing 200 members aren't even a thousand bucks that's just 666 bucks (Now THAT is comedy) and that is BEFORE taxes. Phil has no fucking self control once he gets showered with supposed ginormous support. And as usual to quote Phil the money is "Gone. In an instant. Fucking gone"

Also in terms of YT memberships: if i remember correctly they were supposed to be givento those either in chat or those that frequently "interact" with the content. This is not Twitch where those memberships are getting thrown out like candy once the followers are all covered. And isn't this whole YT membership stuff still in Beta? Or did they release it as a final product now?

If dsp wants subs so bad didn't youtube institute a thing where streamers can give out 10 gifted subs per month? And as I recall, he did it back in December during his Christmas marathon. So he should be sitting on another 10 for January. See if a reminder will set him off.

You are missing the larger point, to be elligible for gifted membership, you have to be either active or recently active in chat, approximate to the time when the gifted member bomb came. You also have to accept the membership manually, which is why the supposed bots watching DSP can't accept memberships. There have been many funny screenshots of how few people are active in chat (besides DSP and nightbot).

Twitch doesn't price adjust member bombs, only single gifted memberships, and likely most of his member bombs on twitch were from the USA anyways.
