I am going to pick a moderator who is someone I know and trust to be the moderator for this board. In the mean time, this board has no moderators assigned, so use the report button more often than you would normally. I am going to make some changes myself soon.

About 20 people decided to fling shit at me for talking about what to do with this board. 2. Link to something funny/entertaining on the Kiwi Farms that is not related to DSP and has not been featured in Community Happenings.

I'm converting this notice to the meta thread for the board. I just noticed this is the only board with no meta thread, which is weird. I'm subscribed to this thread (+ all meta threads), so if you post here I'll probably see it.

I have some ideas for mods but I'm taking it slow as there's no real urgency. If you want to propose mods here, go for it.

People expressed some concern regarding the account registration barrier. I have an idea for how I'd like to allow new users to join. It may be a temporary barrier just to stop people from deliberately shitting up the board and making things more stressful than they need to be. If it's not temporary, I'll create some way to make the board accessible.

- I'm going to try and keep tabs on things and actually read the board.
- I ask that if stuff happens that's interesting in the DSPverse, people post it in the Community Happenings Thread. This will draw organic attention to the board from elsewhere in the site.
- I'll restore the chat today.

It's still an open thread, it just got unpinned when the new Read First thread got made. I don't remember why it was that the new thread was locked to posters, or why the old Meta thread never got posted in again.

What? There was a thread dedicated for his Sidescrollers appearance and his Begathon streams always got their own thread to not clutter up the main threads. Kat (and her sister) also has her own thread despite her ultra rare appearance on streams. Hell, JimiHendrix has made a few specialty threads for the better playthroughs of DSPs. The latest being his BG3 playthrough and the previous being his Armored Core (I believe) playthrough. He gives great commentary on/about them too.

I'm glad to hear this. I think if you stay more informed of what goes on in this sub-forum you can better understand what goes on. I mostly browse the DSP board and sometimes dip my toes in others but DSP is the main reason why I joined.

I think the current way things haven been (in say, the last year or so) works best because Phil is genuinely kinda boring but vaguely amusing in various ways and the general thread is good for keeping tabs on the daily dorkness of this loser.

But I've been appreciating the threads made for various things like the podcast fuck up and his fat wife or specific discussion of how Phil is too stupid to play BG3, or his gacha addiction.

But we don't need separate threads for 'Phil is bad at street fighter' since him screeching about net code is generally amusing but not noteworthy in itself. The general functions very similar to my other two favorite cows, Bossman (the dsp of gamba) and Jack Scalfani (the dsp of stroking out) where its the daily misadventures of an idiot, with specific threads for 'black shirt begging emergency streams' and the like.

The only thing I think we need going forward is a tighter leash on spastics coming into the general thread and shitting the place up, but Phil isn't the only subforum here that attracts weirdly autistic mouth breathing. I don't know how the other ones handle morons coming in trying to stir up shit and cause drama, maybe just thread ban people for acting out?

Ngl I like 'go do a book report on a different cow' as punishment. But overall I don't really think the usual posters here are too different than elsewhere. It's just the specific manifestation of Phil's weirder orbit. At least nobody's followed him into public to record themselves beating his ass.

I’m glad you’re taking steps to understand our little community a bit more, and encouraging us to post more Community Happenings thread.

To be honest, I felt pretty taken aback and ostracized over the recent events. Maybe I’m too much of a normie, but seeing the site owner chastise an entire board like children, left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m a frequent MATi watcher, and I felt I had a good understanding of your personality, but I don’t think I do now. I even gave you some weight loss advice in the Weightloss support thread a few months back, and had a high opinion of you. However seeing your openness here is a great sign.

Although I like the other two mods, maybe they weren’t the right fit for the board, sometimes having someone too close to the material isn’t a good thing. In any case, it’s a thankless job, and although those two may have some negative feelings, time heals all wounds and I hope they still remain part of the community.

However I do ask, if this ever occurs again whether here or on another board, please keep it behind the scenes. I think shutting down a board for a few hours, throwing down a gauntlet for funny content, wasn’t something I was expecting from a site owner. I think this could have been hashed out a lot more quietly and proficiently with a conversation “behind da scenes”.

Genuine question: have you watched Phil's Streetfighter streams? I honestly don't understand how anyone could watch the clips of them and not find them hilarious.

I watch them on Memeology's channel regularly with a couple of my normie friends and they think Phil's delusions and manbaby tardrage over "dropped input, mash jab, pattern players" are hilarious and infuriating at the same time.

Phil is so delusional when it comes to his skill in vidya that it loops from maddening to belly laugh funny. Him playing BG3 and suiciding his party in Gale's necrotic aura right off the bat was fucking gold. Not to mention how he constantly mean-mugs the chat when something goes wrong.

Idk, I personally think Phil's insanely high opinion of himself when it comes to video games combined with his complete ineptitude at the vast majority of them is funny as fuck, but maybe it's just not for everyone.

When does the mirror start reflecting back on to the detractors? I sort of followed the meta discussion in the other thread. And I mostly agree that the life ruination stuff originates elsewhere then here. But what is very real is the constant dehumanizing of phil. And I don't understand what the rage is all about. Phil using using an exorbitant amount of money in a lame mobile game. That is ridiculous right? Him calling it business expenses even more ridiculous. Him writing off all that debt though. That was pretty epic. The only people losing in that transaction was greedy predatory banks. And when you charge interest in the double digits you expect some of that to be written of. Is there anything else outrageous phil have done the last 5 years?

I don't necessarily think that someone needs to be haha funny all the time to be interesting. That doesn't even seem to be the reason for Phil's popularity. It's pretty damn obvious that most people here are hatewatching phil. Isn't this cottage industry around hating him really more weird then phil himself though? If your slogan could be "10 years of nonstop DSP hate for clout and attention" That is pretty fucked. I think there is a lack of focus on those individuals. Calling Phil a fat scamming pig, should not grant you membership in some trollshielding club of righteousness.

It does feel like a lot of the grifting bullshit was accepted as the norm and not called what it really is. There is only real conversation when these people start going at each other's throats.
