I got into the podcast (TDS) in 2018, so some time after the breakup. From then to early 2020 it genuinely was a really good show, especially with the talent that would produce bits for it (eg: HMWH, see link below). He just mentally deteriorated from 2020 onwards, now acts like an unfunny little bitch. I've got no fucking idea what the whole comic issue is, unless he's really going to bat for his pet pedo.

Maddox really is a much better writer than he is a speaker. Not that this is groundbreaking commentary, but it highlights pretty well the disparity in Dick's apparent income vs engagement.

Personally, I think the numbers weren't faked but are now. My guess is that once patrons started dipping below 20k he pumped it back up to maintain his image. Earlier on it was much more believable that he was making that much money because there was a ton of engagement. I could believe it if the show had always been low engagement but had a lot of patrons (the "Truck Driver Desperate to Fill Dead Air" theory), but it makes no sense that all this engagement would go away while the Patreon remained high.

Sounds like Dax is trying to copy keems old podcast Baited. Where he would constantly fight with Colossal and TommyC except it actually was organic. One little disagreement and about mid way into the podcast they start bickering. Was good times. Dax however has always been a fake faggot and being friends with Vito is the dumbest decision imaginable.

The one thing I can think of that might explain some of it is people getting bored of watching and forgetting about his show and their pledge. If any of you have followed the Poast thread you'd recognize how absolutely critical zombie funding can be for people like Graf or Dax who have zero ability to bring new blood into their audiences. If Patreon ever did a purge of accounts that just inactively spent money (not that they would) it would likely decimate Dax's numbers in a way that he can't easily cover up.

When you start talking about who deserves money (in terms of voluntary association) it's really cringe and gay. You can talk about if the people holding monopolies deserve to have those monopolies, because monopolies already interfere with voluntary association. However, absolutely nothing on this planet forces anyone to watch xQc, as evidenced by the fact I have never watched him. Thousands of people do, though, and they do so voluntarily. That's why he deserves that income.

Similarly, Juju is a balding loser who would suck Weinstein's dick for a shot at landing his pitch on someone important's desk, but anyone who would feel inclined to pay him for his podcast is someone who should be able to.

Any argument along the lines of "X doesn't deserve the money people willingly give him" or "X shouldn't be allowed to use or make money off content created by third parties" or "X company should intervene and stop that person from making money from his audience" are ones I am forced to categorically reject because not doing so would be hypocritical.

It's better to be in a world where xQc can exist than one where he cannot.
