Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I almost gave up on the game due to the crazy ore grind, but learning that you can build a base right on a bunch of ore clumps and use the grappling hook to sidestep carry weight restrictions fixed it. I can mine 200 ore in an in-game day so now I only have to go mining every couple of hours instead of every 30 minutes. Wish you could automate it though. Pals don't seem to mine clumps if you're not standing there.

Developer of the Nick Smash clone is pretty clearly butthurt about the Pokemon/Ark clone doing well.

>anyone playing put of spite wont last a month
hey, retard isnt that why people shilled your game for months after Nintendo's shitty treatment of tournament scenes? man is throwing stones from the most fragile of glass houses over here

Do they have a certain level in mining? From what I can tell, guys with only level 1 will mine stone, but you need 2 or higher to have them go mine ore boulders. Once I threw a couple of those into a base I had at a cluster of ore boulders, they started mining automatically. There does seem to be a bit of an issue with the "reality bubble" if you leave them, but my experience is that they'll mine it, but transporters will slack off and only carry it into boxes sometimes.

I'm just curious how PvP will work, trading being added from pokemon makes sense but I dont understand how a meta would work like that

I had the sunfish digger guys. They would mine the ore pretty quickly if I went afk there, but I'd never find piles of it on the ground or anything when I teleported back, and there wouldn't be more than 2-3 in the chest. But it only takes 5-10 minutes to mine it out by hand.

He's not technically wrong, but Palworld at least has the distinction of actually being a distinctly different game.

Really, I don't know how long this game will last long term; there will be a dropoff as the pokemon antis realise this is too different to be their heckin new poek-ey-mans, and the developer's got a habit of abandonware. But by the time they antis have reality set in, their money will be firmly in the devs hands, and this might be able to actually start leeching playters away from ark by having a capture system that's not brain-damaged.

From the early access FAQ, not even the devs really know how it will work, and they're trying out a bunch of stuff to see what fits. I'd assume something like an arena for dueling would work better than ARK/Rust-style raiding where you try to take on somebody's base where all 12+ Pals attack you at once.

Weird, I have the exact opposite issue. Half the time I warp in, half the ore is just left lying on the ground and I have to scoop it all up.

They do but you need something with mining level 2. Early game Im pretty sure the only Pal qualified is Tombat lol. But once you unlock the west desert (~lvl20), you'll have more options.

I keep seeing this, but it isn't true. The dev has two other games (which probably aren't even by the same team), one of which is on version 1.3 and Craftopia, which got an update less than a month ago. Craftopia came out and still is a broken mess, but they've been updating it fairly regularly. Even with the hype surrounding Palworld, they didn't give up on Craftopia.

The rapid change from legitimate criticism to outright hostility says he was really only pretending to be fair. Also the weird criticism of having to know about both of these types of games before jumping in.

Looking at the pictures on Steam they are lucky they don't get hit with a lawsuit from Nintendo. A lot of those "pals" are nearly blatant rip offs.
Not enough to actually matter, though. Taking elements here and there and redesigning the rest should be a difficult legal battle, especially considering how many Pokemon there are.

I think I may have broken the Syndicate/Free Pal Alliance raids, I just built a bunch of wooden gates near any area that those thugs could get through and they basically stopped right at the door.

I did something similar at my second base and the same thing happened during a Free Pal Alliance raid, the only difference is that some managed to get through a small gap I accidentally left behind (and have now patched up).

No joke, literally two seconds before I was about to stop playing for the night, I got raided by three derpy blue dinos 10 levels higher than my strongest Pal who proceeded to burn down my entire three story house. I than spent 45 mins rebuilding it, only with stone this time.

I’m equal parts pissed and impressed. I’m also going to make that particular Pal go extinct from now on lol.

I had same feelings that this game will be scraped as soon as Nintendo shows interest into it. There is whole subreddit that inspects the similarities between Pokemon and this abomination and most of the creatures are essentially ripoffs with slight changes.

What also intrigues me is the developer responsible for Palworld. They had previous, very similar game and theme to it called Craftworld (?) which is in 2 year early access development hell and I doubt it will be ever finished.
