Day 36: Everyone Hates Chris
After Tayleigh locked Chris into the Gooncave where he decided to sleep for some reason, it seems everyone is tired of his shit. Oliver is outright denying Chris to his face when asked to play along his dumb schemes. Shinji just seems to hate him and doesn't really engage. Tayleigh is more openly hostile. TJ is stuck being the Chris right-hand man like an idiot. Trish is sleeping.

There has been a lot of odd stuff this morning. Right now Greg is mogging Chris by getting more positive TTS while Chris is sitting silently in the living room.
Getting ignored may be the thing Chris is wounded by the most.

There was this funny thing, its kind of Chris saying good morning to Greg as he just woke up. Just the bare minimal interaction, Greg hoping he goes away as soon as possible.

I want to see open revolt to end Chris. I am afraid that Production will interfere with that though.

Jet has such horrible taste in his own show. His favorite part of season 1 was the camping challenge most people agree was the low point of the show and his favorite bit from this season was Jimmy aimlessly wandering around the house while horribly acting like he was excitedly looking for a hidden doll. It went nowhere and led to nothing. It was such a nothing moment there are just two clips of it on Youtube one with 300 views and another with 14. People clearly did not find it interesting. For comparison Jimmy throwing the mallet got 83k views.

I think Jet fundamentally does not understand what people like about Fishtank or maybe he just has terrible taste in it who knows. I remember watching the doll thing live and thinking "this is basically just shitty improv acting from an autistic manchild"

All the while, the architect of this chaos sleeps soundly on the couch upstairs. TJ is a bitch and I love Tay.

The most sad bit about this is the fact that Tay is running on maybe 1-2 hr sleep a night for the past few days, and still manages to be more entertaining than the other three fish combined. She still dominated most of the events yesterday and was visibly exhausted, sitting around clutching her head in a sitting position for most of the evening when there was downtime, yet she still puts on an entertaining show. I'm fully at the point where I'd be pissed if she doesn't get the prize money because she has done almost all of the work carrying this show since Jimmy was eliminated. Production had to feverishly work to undo all of the work the past two she did to eliminate TJ or Shinji instead of Trish. First she zero'd TJ out with the 'Make Fatty cry' challenge, then immediately won the piss fatty off challenge at the same time. Production spams TTS relentlessly to get Fatty to assign TJ points in huge numbers to save him. Then when Shinji is due for elimination for not having enough Chris Points, outstripped by even Trish who had to do stuff like sponge-bathe Fatty, they tried doing a huge run of contests which Tay handily dominated only to once again overturn it by getting Fatty to just give him like 40k points for a haircut.

I don't even fault Trish for going into a gloomy depression over the overt potential of elimination, which she wasn't even due for since she was above Shinji in CP. It was obvious that nothing she could do would save her since the shit is literally rigged and humiliating yourself like Tay by shaving her hair wouldn't have done jack shit but leave her bald after her preordained elimination. Its one thing to rig the eliminations in the early weeks like when they got rid of Brian. Its another thing entirely when the show is in the final week and you're undoing solid work by one of the contestants to ensure they win or survive. Trish did not deserve to be eliminated and them openly bragging about rigging the elimination was really insulting to the fish and audience, its no wonder Trish just stopped doing anything when literally every person in production is telling her she is on the chop block.

He doesn't just have horrible taste, he is a horrible producer/director. I seriously have no fucking clue why you would openly admit to rigging an elimination in front of the fish in the final week of the show. Tay put huge amounts of work in and it was all pointless because production wants to play favorites. Trish realized that she was openly targeted for elimination and spent the last few days just moping about in B2 laying in her bed talking to TTS because of it. At this point what incentive is there for Tay, or any other fish to play along with longform challenges that would ensure another fish get eliminated when the producer of the fucking show tells you that its meaningless and he will overturn it, and he alone selects eliminations? Jet didn't even seem to understand that cutting the fish back to just grits and peanut butter for a week would make them low energy and not eager to do anything, this was a serious topic of discussion between Sam and Ben at the bar last night.

Edit: To point out the effect this has had, Trish is immediately back to being entertaining the moment she became a freeloader. She was giving Fatty near demonic levels of side eye during interactions last night.

That aside the whole giving up thing has been a notable occurrence in this season. Jet and the wiggers just don't understand that positive reinforcement (ie. providing chips for completing missions, challenges, creating content, taking initiative or giving praise for doing a good job) is much more potent and has a longer-lasting effect vs negative reinforcement (telling the fish they're not doing enough, telling them they're boring, telling the fish what they're doing wrong).

Production needs to be more consistent about rewarding fish for following cues given to them, especially if these are "missions" that they've been assigned. I think one of the more egregious examples of them failing to reward a fish for accomplishing their mission was when donye was managing a script and Trish was tasked to mess up the script as much as she could. She was berated for hours by donye for doing her mission and I believe production never gave her anything for sticking to it (I think).

yeah while I don't want to try and compare to season 1 contestants too much, Tay will is most comparable to letty once this is all over. A discount letty for sure but she's carrying it at the moment.

What I find worse about this is that Jet said he wrote this "doll activity" bit before the show started. I thought it happened organically and it went nowhere because he just didn't know what to do with it after it happened, but no. He already had this idea before the show started and he did absolutely nothing with it. Wasted potential.

I think this could have actually been interesting if Jet would have taken a few minutes to do something. Like maybe go to a thrift store, buy some busted up dolls, and hide them when the fish are distracted or asleep. Make them think the dolls are worth something that causes them to fight and hoard doll parts, just to reveal later it's worthless. Or maybe create a mini mission where the first fish to have all the doll parts needed to make a completed doll wins $500 or something. Anything besides "lol tricked you, there are no dolls!"
