I'm not a Boogie regular, but I pop my head in once in a while to see if he's still alive. Despite being late I watched his interview with Caleb Hammer and I made this observation where Boogie makes a lot of references or comparisons about his life to pop culture regardless whether the other person understands it or not. In this case he said he's like Jerry from Rick and Morty, but that hinges on Caleb knowing about that specific show.
Basically Boogie's point was that he's saying he acts pathetic as a defense mechanism, just like like Jerry from Rick and Morty. But his point could have been made just as effectively without mentioning a comparison to a cartoon. He could take the idea from a show or movie without having to cite where it's from because it doesn't really bolster or aid his point more. Maybe he has this internal world view where everyone has seen or experienced all the same things he has so they must know what he's talking about.
