Taylor was never an actress and I don’t know why people still believe she was. She’s already said a dozen times that she wasn’t and the way she’s been acting should make that pretty obvious.
Why the fuck would you believe what a woman says, that's the most retarded argument one could make. And I never said she was an actress. She was paid to humiliate him in the sense that she was hired as a freeloader (paid) with directives to follow him around and give him fake signals. Do you believe for a second she did all that on her own?

The day Brian came back he basically told TJ that Taylor was into him by saying “goblin pussy is real and it wants you hard”. I highly doubt that former /r9k/ user Jet ineptitude would be this competent at creating a romance plot.
Jesus, dude. You actually believe she was into him. I really hope you aren't anything like that spastic and you weren't self inserting as him.

And even if people truly believe it, it is more fun to just let the imagination run wild and go along with the fake narrative than it is to get all pouty and go *grumble grumble* "it all fake".
I don't know who wanted to force a grand narrative—could be Sam, Jet, or both—but it wasn't good for the show.
Also, consider what that practically meant for the show: they sacrificed all the interesting fish for the "grand story arc."
They broke up interesting situations that emerged on their own to force some lame bit connected to the "grand story arc."
All independently entertaining fish got shot down so TJ could shine in his transformation.
In S1 no one could leave the tank come back and remain a contestant.
TJ was allowed to do that two times, he came back with pizza talking how relaxing it was outside. Coddle Tank much?

Keeping in mind how much entertainment got sacrificed, the "grand story arc" being TJ is bald and let's all pretend he isn't weird anymore; it's truly Neptunian.

TJ's transformation has weird similarities with Trannies; the real change is purely superficial, and everyone plays along, telling him he is heckin valid now. Those who don't play along get banned.

I don't know if Jet came up with it or if Taylor simply found an easy mark.
She did try really hard to come of as an innocent girl next door.

You are either not that sharp or a hopeless romantic, because this girl is as real as American cheese.
Taylor said she would shave her head for TJ. Taylor is a true TJ Maxxer.

Do TJ-Maxxers believe there was a chance for Taylor to cut her hair?

All the consolidation I will have for an e-thot getting free money is the fact that I knew it beforehand.

Same goes for humiliating oneself. If you do that too often and without much of a reason it comes off as strictly pathetic. Pushback from fish is ok, it’s pushback to the point of locking yourself in a room refusing to do challenges that’s annoying. I view Tay as more of the former. She licked Frank’s boots, without questions and willingly gave him her panties. That comes off as desperate more than anything.
Tay admitted in the Confessional the next day that the licking boots and giving panties shit was a strategy to disarm Frank's hassling that was catastrophically ineffective. She thought she could just pretend to be unbothered and disinterested and it would make Frank just give up since the hassling is designed to frustrate people into reacting. The next day she immediately changed course and just started attacking him back by smashing eggs on his head or hurling slop on him, which is why it escalated into Frank physically hurling her around multiple times leading to the scissors being pulled.
Agreed. I get the scuffed nature of the show is part of the charm, but you cannot call yourself a game show and dangle $50k in front of the contestants' eyes and then be inconsistent with regards to the rules or pick favorites. There's no reason for fish to compete or the audience to watch at that point.
I agree, and this is why the show basically collapsed after Trish got eliminated, Jet openly stated to the fish for some reason that I fail to understand that the elimination was rigged to cull Trish and that Tay broke that rigging so they had to re-rig it. After that point the fish just completely stopped participating in the show more or less until the finale, just going through the motions during "beach day" drinking beer and wasting goofing off with Greg.

It should also be noted that TJ and Tayleigh, like all the remaining fish after Jimmy’s elimination, rarely created content without some guidance by production to do so. Their content was never strictly lasting nor was it connected, and it stuck with the theme of the latter half of season two just being and ocean of nontent filled with brief islands of content popping up only to disappear under the waves shortly after.

Tayleigh was in my opinion the fish who made the most content on her own after Jimmy’s elimination, but I do not think that makes her a content driver. She was the best of the worst. She was a mid fish at best, but because the other three were just as bad if not worse, she stood out.
It depends on what you consider "content" is the Trish-Tayleigh fight "content" or is the little things that fill the void content? I find that the simple things like talking to the camera and being interesting is the most important part of the show, just singing, dancing or having a good conversation matters most, not flashy one-off events like Jimmy's mallet episode that got him kicked. If you go by my metric then Tay was one of the most solid entertainers making content on the show. Tay was always able to have one-sided conversations with the camera or converse with the TTS that made her interesting to watch, you could pan to her camera and generally get something of value from it. Much like you could with Cole and Jimmy or Shinji if he was having a good day with his English speaking ability.

Shinji also had good camera presence and was excellent during his podcast hour and just was great to follow around the house. TJ on the other hand only started getting really interesting towards the tail end of the show and I think his art critique stuff was one of the first times you could actually just pan to him and get something worthwhile outside of TTS roasting him or telling him what to do. After this point he seemed far more open to just vocalizing his thoughts and desires, but he still didn't have the same magnetism as Shinji and Tay for the camera.

The real meat and bones of fishtank is having a likeable cast and I think they knocked it out of the park with this season, even the weaker cast members like TJ eventually came out of their shell and started being camera friendly towards the end.

Another thought I had. If Jimmy made it to the finals, do you think he could of actually won with the physical challenges?

After watching the TJ v Jimmy fight, you realize how in poor shape Jimmy is in. Chain smoking, inactive and has the body of a middle aged woman. During the boxing matches he was gassed in the first minute and was a quitter. I think he wouldn't of been able to hack anything that requires cardio or endurance and could only succeed with short explosive tard rages.

There is no person within the fishtank universe who deserves a fanbase less then Betty. She wasn't even interesting on the show. She flashed her tiny boobs and walked around the house in a riot helmet. I was going to say "Oh but she kissed Sylvia" but that wasn't even her that was Ella. She was there just 3 days and the only memorable things she did were her being slutty while also calling Letty a whore bizarrely.

I think the real moment when Tay lost the show was when she made fun of fatty to the point were he was really questioning wether or not he should be on the show. Sam had to come up and reassure him that he wasn’t using him and he really seemed like he was being serious with him. It also really showed howw nasty Tay could be when she was saying shit like
"Your mom had fucking cancer and died. See? I can go there. But I won't."
or "At least my parents are alive and I get to talk to them. I could go there Chris but I haven't." I don’t entirely disagree with her that they’re using Chris as a sort of circus freak but I do think that Sam genuinely cares for him. If he had actually walked from the show after that she probably would have been immediately eliminated. I also think her cutting her hair for no reason was test to see how much she was willing to debase herself and I don’t think she passed it.

You are simply repeating what production told you, not what actually happened.

If Jet came up from his basement looked into the camera and told you how great it was that in the beginning Tay was so afraid of Frank that she licked his boots, and then she grew so much that she ended up being the fish that fought back the hardest against Frank.
She ended up taking no shit from him.
Would you believe it?
You’re misunderstanding my post. My opinion on Tayleigh has nothing to do with production, it is a fact that Tayleigh gave Frank her panties and licked his boots with practically zero push back. No amount of growth changes that. If anything, Tayleigh would be starting out below what would be expected of a fish when confronted with Hassle. She just kind of rolled over and listened to his orders at first. If you want to argue she grew to fight back the most out of all the fish then fine, I wasn’t arguing that. Fish fighting back against Frank is what should be expected, and is a pretty low bar to clear. I will admit Tayleigh was the only one to clear that bar this season (with maybe the exception of Trish) but, again, that should be the minimum. She’s not special because she was some great fish, she’s special because the rest of the fish were that bad.

You know it's fake Nazi shit, because production told you it is.
How does production know what is inside Tay's own head?
There is nothing that happened during the show that demonstrated that she was not racist or far-right or even a national socialist.
"Fake Nazi cringe" was a meme production made up.
don’t know where you’re getting this production narrative, and it comes off as a bit schitzo. It is far more likely that Tay was either not a Nazi but pretending to be one to gain favor (which is strategical) or she was sincere in those beliefs but played it up to the camera, which would again be for the sake of strategy. On top of this, anytime she had the opportunity to express her “far right” views in a public setting she didn’t. She was perfectly fine calling Duanyey a nigger in private, but to his face? Not so much. She kept the same non confrontational strategy with him like she did most of the show. At best we’re at a stalemate, but I think the evidence leans towards Tay at least hamming it up for the camera.

I would also like to ask, where and when did production make this meme that Tayleigh was the cringe one? That developed naturally when she shied away from espousing her beliefs when confronted as well as pantygate. The closest thing there was to a psyop iirc was when the mondo megabits discord (as in the people directly on the side of production) spammed the /ftl/ thread with Tayleigh and other female fish posts to distract the audience from the lack of TTS.
@Aristides @Lowercase I internet But please show me how he grew, anything besides people saying he grew, that he actually changed in any significant way.

You must all believe TJ was much more retarded in the beginning than he actually was.
Exactly the same as in the end but with long hair
My post had nothing to do with TJ “growing as a character”. He was the same loser retard at the beginning and end of the show. If you read towards the end I said Tayleigh was the best out of the four remaining fish because she sometimes generated content and had something at least resembling a real arc. TJ’s arc was fake and gay.

Just because someone doesn’t like a certain fish doesn’t mean they’ve been indoctrinated by production and their evil mind control methods. Tayleigh was fine for what she was, but that’s about it. Most of her growth was done during the last two weeks and it wasn’t on the same level as something like Letty versus the house, or if we want to use a season two example JC betraying everyone to steal chips. She showed up, came out of her shell when all the interesting fish were given the boot, grew a little, and that was it. And that’s fine. Not every fish needs to be A tier.

We agree on more than you think. Tay should’ve won and she got screwed over. That doesn’t mean she was a hall of fame fish.

I mean, this show is ultimately built on toxicity and being out of pocket, why would Tay bringing up Fatty's mom be an issue? And why should Freeloaders take more precedence than Fish? Anyways, they made up later that night when Fatty refused to box her and won the pissing challenge, so I legit don't think that factored into Tay losing. It was all just Neptune Kubrick's world renown artistry at play.

I love the concept of sharks, yeah they are a little goofy sometimes but it creates a layer of separation between the contestants and production.

I think they should, if/when S3 rolls out of the hanger to have Sam exclusively interact, face to face, with contestants infrequently and only within the confines of status updates as well as challenge announcements, etc.
The rest of staff should be faceless and silent. The least enjoyable parts of this season was when the contestants would be negotiating with staff, clearly because they were comfortable with doing so. You can’t bend the rules or negotiate with a set of costumed, faceless individuals who will not speak to you.
I was saying this before. When the show started, I was under the impression that Sam and Jet were the hosts of the show that are openly permitted to mess with the fish, while Ben, Vance, etc. were intended to be the Lawful Neutral officials that are just there to hold cameras and make sure no one gets injured. By the first quarter, this dynamic was entirely thrown off and the other production members were about as unreliable and antagonistic as Sam and Jet. Hell, I would even say at times they were actually more unreliable than Sam. Sam will occasionally lie to you or misdirect you, but he will generally give a direct answer if given a direct question. Weirdly, I think he was maybe the only one that had any sense of fair play here, if you set aside the obvious rigging towards TJ towards the end. Some of the other members of the production will lie to you outright and keep the lie going for yuks. If they were going to start fucking with the Fish, they needed some easy way of delineating between referee and antagonist. Say for instance, a unique costume of some sort. Maybe something that obscures their face to remove the human element. I dunno, I'm just spitballing here.
