I wonder if the environment itself does damage to the psyche. Many of the fish in both seasons have talked about weird stuff like not dreaming in the tank like Tay or feeling on edge weeks or months afterwards. I believe in the final week Oliver woke up in a fury and started getting argumentative with Jet in the morning over what was likely a phantom TTS in his head saying "Oliver Gay" that he believed woke him up. I'm fairly certain that TTS was off most of that evening along with SFX and it was entirely just in his head.

It was so weird how you could actually see the fish calm down when Sam showed up.

They probably saw him as the only responsible adult. They spend most of their day having Jet fumble around trying to organise challenges or telling them to be more entertaining or trying to pointlessly gaslight them once again. Despite Sam being a giant ogre who was literally spitting on the floor and punching cabinets, he was able to lift the mood upon walking in the room and also course correct Jets fuckups and get the show back up and running.

Agreed. Last season Jet was more neutral and Ben was neutral most of the time but then would play the bits where he's trauma dumping on the Fish or telling them how he's jealous of them.
In S2 they're both hostile towards the fish. Bens general attitude seemed to blur more from doing a bit to making you wonder if he actually doesn't like the contestants. Even Vance seemed indifferent towards the end. Plus you had Airsoft Fatty coming in from the get go and telling them how they're all shit and not as good as S1. But he's a obese NEET so no one is going to take him seriously.

I wouldn't shit too hard on production on this, its been all of two days since the show ended and they probably need to let the accounts reconcile before they can start writing checks, often times this can take 2-3 days before everything is settled with the bank. At the bare minimum they needed to wait until Monday to take the money crate to a bank and deposit it back into the business account.

yes it does, quite a lot of reality show situations mess people up, especially in the 90s when people truely thought "anything goes" especially in japan. And i'd say fishtank was even worse, because of laws written after the quiz show scandals you can't rug pull or do a lot of the other bullshit Fishtank has done with its competitions. We all know if someone truely did get hurt the crew wouldn't have given a fuck. look how often frank or jimmy or chris went over the line.

As others have said the first season the fish had a bit of unity and a "we're all in this together" mentality with the person that got it the "worst" clearly talking with the crew a lot of the time so things truely wouldn't get too extreme. But this season it was off the rails, As much as we all love the first night of Greg, its obvious they really destroyed everyones minds really badly.

I think the real moment when Tay lost the show was when she made fun of fatty to the point were he was really questioning wether or not he should be on the show. Sam had to come up and reassure him that he wasn’t using him and he really seemed like he was being serious with him. It also really showed howw nasty Tay could be when she was saying shit like

or "At least my parents are alive and I get to talk to them. I could go there Chris but I haven't."
