Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

What is the "oh no"? 90% of the times it's one tiny irrelevant detail that only serves to make you click on the video
Mainly its about the Switch's ram. Every other spec is about in line with what has already been revealed in older reports going back years, or is about what everybody was expecting. The biggest gripe in the video is the the Switch will supposedly have only 8 gigs of RAM, as opposed to 16 or even 12. Generally, 16 GBs is considered optimal for modern gaming, with 12 being the minimum. Any less, and games will be severely handicapped by memory limitations (keeping in mind that there is always a little bit of RAM reserved for the OS and the system; for example, the Xbox reserves 2 GBs of its RAM for that), and any more and you won't see any real benefits or gains. The video was saying that the Switch having only eight could hamstring game performance and development, especially in the later years of the console's life.

RE Village runs on the iPhone, which maxes out at 8gb. The Switch's far bigger problem was memory bandwidth regarding game performance.

I can't remember if it was RE8 or RE4R, but Digital Foundry analyzed one of them on the iPhone and it was even worse than the PS4 version, iirc. Switch 2 should outdo PS4 across the board if it's supposed to be a true successor.

Fate/Stay Night will be released on the Nintendo Switch for this year 2024, as the HD remastered version Realta Nua which previously came out on the Playstation Vita only in Japan. But this time, it will be available worldwide with English and Japanese language supports. A PC port (Steam) is also announced.

Holy crap!! I'm shocked they're even releasing this for Switch. This is the first Ace Combat game to come out on a Nintendo home console, and only the third to release on a Nintendo console period (after Ace Combat Advance, but nobody remembers that one, and Assault Horizon Legacy/3D: Cross Rumble). Its also the first mainline numbered Ace Combat release on a Nintendo console, rather than a side story/spinoff or remake.
I expect the Ace Combat mainline franchise to continue on Nintendo at this point, this port is likely meant to gather a new audience before an eventual true sequel.
Would be cool to have the older titles too, especially the holy trinity back from the PS2, but I assume plane licensing remains a hurdle.

Hopefully it at least has the silver lining of filtering out bad devs that can't optimize their bloated and buggy mess of an AAA if their lives depended on it - meaning that there is still a level of quality found among most games brought to the Switch 2.

Highly unlikely. Games are only going to get bigger and more bloated with time. Optimization will probably be a huge issue with the Switch 2.

Considering the newest iPhones can now offer similar performance to the Steam Deck at single digit wattage and no active cooling I would say that is a good indication how far mobile chips have come.

I wonder if the PC version will be uncensored or have a patch for the adult content.
Modern Type Moon would never uncensor it themselves.

Yeah but at $1k I'd expect nothing less. Assuming Nintendo tops out at $350 and cheaps out on hardware usual, it'll interesting to see what they actually do. I think $350 is unlikely as an introductory price too, so we're probably talking $300.

Hasn't that been Nintendo's schtick since the NES? Use inferior technology, sell the console as a lost but make fucking bank on the games.
I'm pretty sure Nintendo has typically NOT sold their consoles at a loss. In fact I think Wii U may have been the first that launched at a loss.

I'm not really sure if the massive cuts to Gamecube resulted in losses per console or not.

Selling shit at an loss is hardly unique to anyone, but it was in full swing during the PS2/PS3 era. As for them just giving up on the tech stuff I'm not entirely sure, but it might have started with the Wii.

It's only been their schtick since the Wii, when they realized that computing power had little bearing on it people enjoyed a game or not. The GameCube and everything before it was either the most powerful console of its time or near it. Hell, the Wii and GameCube are literally the exact same hardware but with different controllers, and the Wii sold like hotcakes while the GameCube was in the bargain bin, despite the Wii being underpowered for its generation and the GameCube being competitive.

CERO alone prevents sex scenes from the PC eroge titles to appear on console releases. Sorry but no defenseless Rin's for you.
Damn it, I just *giggle* wanted to EXPERIENCE the, uh, um, amazing Nasu sexy dialog that definitely isn't cringe

They made more money on Game Boy from 96 onward and it was their way of operating with Game Boy from day 1.
