Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

That might not be an unpopular opinion here but you can never shit on woke garbage enough, so you're the retard for not taking every opportunity to do so in earnest.

Point taken.

I know you only took two posts to get convinced and those were sincere opinions as much as they ended up being good bait. You're not a retard though so my post wasn't really directed to you either.
The reactions to those posts is what made me discover this goldmine.

I mean if you ignore quake had a mix of gothic, industrial, medieval that makes the game feel more unique nowadays

All of which looked like mud. There wasn't even the vaguest attempt to tell any sort of story with the levels - even Doom 1 and 2 did that better than Quake did. Quake was literally just jumping from random level to random level. What was any place you went? The levels had names, but they were very much "game levels", not... places.

This is the core issue with this absolute retard infested, reddit-lite garbage of a thread. It's a completely uncontroversial opinion here that im a raging faggot and you should be getting downvoted.

But you won't as other, completely uncontroversial opinions constantly get upvoted. Because some of you are a bunch of weakminded, (self admitted) autistic, cocksucking faggots in a circle jerk with one and other nerdposting about stuff as this was a general chat.
Jesus Christ, are you this salty that people are getting wise to your blatant trolling and leaving you on read? What's stopping you from making the "KiwiBalls REAL Gaming Unpopular Opinions With Blackjack and Hookers" thread if you despise this thread so much? Besides the fact that you're a retarded mongoloid. I'm unironically asking here.

Who gives a shit about story in Quake of all games? The levels looked cool, were well-designed, and the game was fun to play.

The most reddit tier post in the thread, just with more edge words. Feel free to go back.

It's not about "story" in some literary sense. It's just about some general idea of what's going on, and where you were. Quake 1 was just a random succession of levels with no narrative thread connecting them and no explanation of what anything was, what you were doing there, or... well, anything.

Doom 1 managed it. Quake could have, but didn't.

And a few of them looked cool. Most were dark, muddy messes. Some of them were well designed. Some others were... not. Again, not to put too fine a point on it, but Sandy Peterson's levels, in particular, were shit.

Cinematic game brain rot can set in deep, unfortunately.

Some of us want a little more than just a single player arena shooter I'm not asking for Shakespeare. I'm asking to do at least as well as fucking Doom.

I get the hate for cinematic shitvthese days, but even Donkey Kong had a story. If Quake can't match a 1981 arcade game's story then there's a problem.

I never played the games, and seeing as there's no story, it sounds like a boring shooting gallery. I bet multiplayer could still be a blast at least.

Donkey Kong and Quakes stories are quite similar in structure.

Donkey Kong: You're a plumber that has to climb girders to save a girl from a monkey named Donkey Kong.

Quake: You're a Ranger who has to go through portals to stop a bad guy named Quake.

I think the latter inherently needs to be elaborated on a bit more, a dumb animal kidnapping Jumpman's girl is pretty simple, no real questions to be asked. You could if pedantic (where'd the monkey come from, etc) but it's wrapped up pretty nicely.

Hearing the latter makes me wonder about their motivations. Jumpman wants his girl, DK wants her too, self-explanatory. What does Ranger want, what is Quake doing exactly, and why?

Spec Ops: The Line was suddenly delisted from storefronts likely due to licensing issues. Why is this an issue now with licensing? Who's the greedy party?
Was it because of the Jimmy Hendrix rendition of the Star Spangled Banner playing in the menu? (was it even really his rendition?)

Either way, we did it Kiwis!

Halo 2 was jank as fuck because it was rushed out on a dying platform. Halo 3, Bungie were secure in their position, and they stacked dead 360's like cordwood.

They needed 3 to stick the landing, and it really did.

Someone please show Testiculo the door.

Quake had amazing level design, but the colors make me not want to go back.

If you're going to delist a game for whatever reason, discount it or give it away. Too Human did that and that game is trash.
Didn't Silicon Knights *have* to give it away for legal reasons?

Normally I'm against delisting digital products, but spec ops the line is the exception since it's a product by fart sniffers for fart sniffers.
This is just going to make it even more of a deal.

It's already jumping up in price on ebay. I'm sure it's easy enough to pirate on PC tho.

It still has a right to exist. A better argument would've been if they delist it digitally, then one could obtain it digitally for free.
