I finished Hollow Ataraxia, the last phase is pretty much just story relevant events and made it much easier to read them all, I found the main story to be pretty enjoyable, and the slow burn of the revelations was acomplished pretty well.
I dont know if I really recommend reading it, as it is 75% skits that can be pretty boring to read depending on if you care about the character they focus on, bit I would recomment at least experiencing the main story however you can, by watching them on youtube or something.

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia is great and just as good at Fate/Stay Night although a lot sillier. Also Bazett doesn't get as much love as she deserves and I kind of wish she would've made a appearance in F/SN.

Yeah, the relationship she develops with Angra Mainyu is pretty good, and all the stuff with Cu are pretty great.
The biggest problem it has for me is the structure of the story and that a lot of the character I just dont really care about (like the people from the school)
Other then that I was thinking on reading Tsukihime, it seems pretty interesting, but I dont know if I should wait for the remake or if I should just read the original fan translation.

I haven't read it but the original Tsukihime's best version is unironically the fanmade browser version despite being in early release as of this post. That's just mainly due to the fact that NScript is a right pain in the ass to work with. The remake has a translation by Tsukihimates that is finished for the most part. IIRC the remake only covers up to a certain portion of the VN but I might be completely wrong about that.

I've been thinking of starting the Fate/Nasuverse VN series for a while (probably after I get around to finishing SG;0 and Clannad) and I'm wondering if there's any issue with starting with Witch of the Holy Night first, then Tsukihime, then finally F/SN. I had picked up the first game on sale when it released.

Besides the wait you would need to get the full remake out since only Near Side routes are done, I would still say go for the original version. I personally dislike the changes Nasu made to the VN, both design wise and in the changes to the story, and in any case, there is a reason the original endured so long as a classic.

They are all basically separate.

I didnt know it wasnt a complete remake yet, I think Ill check the original

Finished Tokyo Necro. It's kind of a weird game that I enjoyed and can't really find a fault with, but it ended up just as good rather than excellent.

My guess is that the issue with the game is that the characters, while very likable never really go above being flat. And the plot, while having some good revelations, action scenes and world building, doesn't make you think. A good comparison is Muramasa, which had dumb as fuck plot idea and theme, but at least one I could write an entire article about, while Tokyo Necro is straight action film.

I still recommend the game, good routes with enough difference between them. And cool ideas for a post apocalyptic world. It also has two protagonists with one being a lesbian but it actually is plot relevant besides having her fuck other women. The sex scenes are alright, nice CGs but I skipped the dialogue. No lolis which is appreciated.

Guess it could have had some bad endings. And the two protagonist route make the pacing clunky. Also very short common route which might have been used to flesh out the world more.

Today I learned that Nexton owns all the old properties that Jun Maeda and Co. worked on under the Tactics brand, in addition to Azarashisoft.
I also learned that the Universe is willing to fuck with *me Specifically* by taunting me with games I'll never get to see in English that I really want to play
This is the closest we'll ever get to having it in English.png

Just replayed Saya No Uta, and God, it's unironically impressive how I still feel it speaks to me on a lot of levels as well as leaving me with a lot of questions about myself that I just don't know I could answer- Like how someone could make such a dog shit comic book about this and miss all of the points it was trying to make in such an impressive way (radiation poisoning lmao).
Are there any other VNs that address the same themes this one brings up?

The only real works Maeda worked on while at Tactics was Moon and ONE, both of which got fan translations.

No, the CD covers on the bottom left of the image are other games Nexton owns. The image itself comes from the remake of ONE that released on steam last month. I know Maeda's old tactics games have fan patches.

Look into the Denpa genre. Stuff like Subarashiki Hibi. Maybe Artificial Pidgeons too.

Yeah but Maeda only worked on Moon and ONE. The other Nexton games aren't worth much of interest when there are many Leaf and Elf games that remain untranslated.

The Amakano franchise has some of the most gorgeous artwork I've ever seen, so I really want to play them.

Most of the beloved classics in the genre are more than 40 hours long. Really makes it hard to share any of it with your bros.
Muv Luv and Alternative. 12th and 13th on VNDB and over 50 hours of voice lines in ML and 75 in Alternative. I enjoyed some of it, but I was skipping a bunch of shit towards the end. Also suffers from the same issue as F/SN with the shoehorned in sex scenes.
