I know some people cut/hurt themselfs for various reasons but I've never seen someone do it like Daniel does, most kids do it for attention by making shallow cuts from side to side on their arms and legs but to actually sit there and punch yourself makes zero sense, and when you think of how weak he is it's obviously not gonna do much damage so I just don't get the point of it. If he does it for attention it's a pretty lame way to do it, if he does it because hurting himself feels good then again it's a pretty lame way to do it.

I'm at a crossroads on one side I don't like pedos (hot take I know). But on the other side a despise the work of weens that seek nothing more but to cause physical harm to a mentally unfit man. It really depends on the day because when Larson does shit like that its hard to see him as human even if he chalks it all up being a mental illness. Yes it can provide a reason for his actions but never as an excuse.

Any thoughts?

No, not an excuse. No, not disagreeing on the pedophilic tendencies, but again, Dan is similar to Johnny Elbows. Low functioning co-morbid SPED.
Yes--that means GROWN ASS MAN with the brain of a 9 year old. And that means you can't have him around kids and in mixed company since he clearly doesn't respect the social contract.
But my hope is that people here (because Reddit won't do it) understands:

1. Dan apparently had zero professional guidance and correction (Paras, teachers, other support professionals)
2. His grandma did him no favors and laid no boundaries.
3. His mother jerked him back and forth and laid no boundaries.
4. Tennyson Center: We don't really know WHAT was taught, and to what extent.
5. Tennyson Center likely did not work with Nancy to put forth a transition plan for services.
6. The group home and case manager might have attempted, but it was far too late at that point. The rot set in.

I fucking want to glass pedos as much as the next guy, believe me. And you're right, it's hard to see Danderson the Muppet as a human when he screams and starts hitting himself. I'm just asking people to keep in mind that the President's developmental milestones were MISSED sorely. That was the sole burden of Nancy and the Tennyson Center. But Dan is an adult and on his own.
The only place for him should be the nut house--permanently. But we're in the good ol' USA and these people have rights...

I couldn't agree more. I wish it was as simple as sending him to the nut house where pillows line the walls. The problem is, as dumb as he is there is still enough competency to avoid being put into one. This is just one of those cases where until he chimps out and harms a redditor there will be no further action to better him. Anyone that thinks they can be the saviour to Dan without the proper training is only kidding themselves.
