Sega - It's more than just Sonic Autism

Sega is the original lolcow company. They are not self sufficient, they always needed a parent company looking after them and bail them out after making yet another retarded decision. Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, Koei, Tecmo, Bandai, Namco, Square, Enix all were on their own and were able to operate on their own. Sure some of them merged, but in cases of Bandai and Namco, Square and Enix, Activision and Blizzard, that was more of meeting by equals, rather than being on the verge of bankruptcy. Sega and CSK from 1984, and Sammy from 2004 onwards, however? No its always the big money daddy looking after retard Sega. Isao Okawa from CSK cleaned up after the Saturn failure and basically funded Sega out of his own pocket so they don't go under after losing tons of money on the Dreamcast. After he died, he had a friend called Hajime Satomi who owned Sammy and wanted him to be CEO of Sega. So it's like giving a misbehaving child to another parent.
Sega was being able to buy a bunch of companies, funding bigger games like Hyenas (as an example, before it was cancelled) while fucking up Sonic during the 00s would not be possible if they wasn't a lenient gambling parent company that gives them money whenver Sega asks nicely.

Interesting that this is happening just days after a backlash regarding an article where localizers expressed their desire to censor games at the source

Man, Sega's just pissing off everyone from the left (firing staff for unionizing), and right (Bending over for ESG) with their actions. They must be confident that their Blackrock money can help them weather the coming storm.

Worse, it incurred the wrath of...normal people. If you read through the replies to https://twitter.com/SEGA_OFFICIAL/status/1751414554779881713/ there were thousands of people complaining, both western and japanese people who were shown examples of localization changes
This all happened before they fired a bunch of localizers. I'd like to believe as a direct result but I think they always planned on firing them after getting these games out anyway. These were all new short contract hires because a lot of the previous localization staff quit and it shows

considering they are also making like, what, 5 big budget revivals of their sega ip's they must be fucking high to piss everyone off while incurring the costs a big budget crazy taxi, Jet set radio, hand drawn shinobi, multiplayer golden axe and whatever the fuck that streets of rage game will be
