"Some parts made me laugh"
Gman is such a brain dead shill
If that turns out to be the swan song for the DCAU justice league saving the day I would be extremely happy. Keeping expectations low but I hope they went big.
Im surprised it took so long for them to do an animated adaptation of one of DC's most iconic stories.
Then again, maybe Im still spiteful over Injustice getting screwed over in the animated departament but they really should have done the whole "parts" thing with injustice first. The Injustice movie was a mash of shit from the comics and the games with little coherence.
If they actually gave a dam they could have tried to redo the mocap or at least the voice acting to make it more respectful.
Apparently if I'm remembering the leaks right, the bare minimum they did was remove a scene where they carve an insignia into his chest and an explicit corpse for Robin.
Maybe there was a blackout and its implied Harley couldnt bring herself to do it so they just settled on restraining him and maybe you get a new mission to find a way to at least free Bruce how the mind control.
There were many ways you could have written around Kevin Conroy's death but I guess it would have taken from their precious vision.
Makes me think the original vision was closer to a conventional single player game and as the name implies your Suicide Squad would lose characters as the story progressed. As soon as they decided it needed 4 player co-op that was gone.
Honestly, a game where the Suicide Squad is larger with more expendable members could work and...lets face it, fighting a mind controlled JUSTICE LEAGUE that wouldnt be holding back would really lead into many deaths.
I can imagine that Superman would have an instant kill move where he flies away for a few seconds and you have only instants to dodge before he speed blitz you into a bloody mess. Its hard to imagine a move of his that wouldnt be an instant kill to be honest, unless there is some red sun radiation stuff weakening his attacks.
This title of this clip is so accurate, and just makes the fact that this game was originally supposed to be a Superman one even sadder.
Say what you want, but at least Rocksteady did understand who Superman really was. That underneath all his inhuman strength, and power, he was just a wholesome farm boy from Kansas.
I get that its suppose to add to the tragedy of killing them but watching this just makes you wish we got a Superman game or a J.L game instead.
Surprised they didnt do a "Superman is fighting the mind control and thats why he doesnt instantly kills us when he easily could" revelation.
Even then, Spiderman 2 sold worse than Spiderman 1 and I believe even Miles Morales. So yeah, not what investors would necessarily call successful.
One of my theories is because the number of people that own a PS5 is still pretty low compared to how many own a PS4 and that factors into sales. Doesnt help that all the controversies did pile up to at least do some level of damage to the sales.
I'm tired of mean-spirited media in general. I'm tired of edgelords, nihilism, cynicism, "gritty realism", and shock-value content. It stopped being interesting thirty years ago. Call me a fag, but I'd take an idealistic wholesome story over a "dark", and "realistic" one now any day.
This is one of the reasons why I think Nintendo consoles and games still sell gangbusters, their content kept a traditional edge for decades. Mario and Link are still one of the most iconic heroes in gaming for a reason, there isnt much ambiguity over their heroic nature and they always fight for whats right.
