I don't know how people keep thinking Democrats are scared of Iran, they're indebted to Iran, and it took a lot of public embarrassments before Biden was willing to do the most token of shit against them.
Without Iran Obama's only foreign policy accomplishment that didn't immediately create the worst terrorist state in the Middle East (and that Trump had the audacity to blow up) can't be reestablished and they are obsessed with reestablishing that, so the mullahs are metaphorically porking them over the barrel for a new deal.
I guarantee you nobody in Iran's government gives much of a shit about these strikes, they were probably pre-cleared on it through back channels, and they're laughing at how incompetent the Great Satan really is.

Contract workers where I am got a 7% pay cut, removed all paid holidays and vacation, and no overtime. Plus we don't seem to be allowed to hire to replace the ones who quit.. Basically a soft layoff, it seems like. Looks like it's industry wide too.

I can corroborate. I'm getting about 12 hours a week now. at least they call me when one of the deadbeats decides not to work.

Edit: now that i think of it there seems to be shakeups at corporate too. our RVP "left" recently, which we all liked, and deliveries are smaller now than ever. we used to get 1,000 piece deliveries weekly. now its ~500 weekly and medicine deliveries are smaller. We are still getting all of the medicine brands we sell but usually just one sleeve (amount depends on size of bottle or pill but usually 3-6 products) of each so it will last like a day or two so you got to get it on the day of or after delivery.

and we are slated for an expansion but it was supposed to happen 2 Christmases ago and has not happened yet. . .
this is a national chain with ~60,000 employees.
