Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

Not true, darling. Judge Chupp didn't decide that. Vic did.

Vic settled with Monica and Ron. He agreed to pay them and Sean Lemoine almost $400,000 at 18% interest. He couldn't even negotiate an NDA out of them.

Funimation and Jamie Marchi are still to come.

This is why you don't sue for hurt feelings and culture wars, poppets. Told you so.

PS. Please don't tell Josh, though. He deserves to learn this lesson the hard way.
You are the worst kind of anime avatar fag. Please kill yourself.

The god of poor people doesn't like it when you tempt misfortune like that. No idea what god all the elite pedophiles worship, but it seems far more tolerant of a haughty spirit. If you're trying to do the right thing, though, you have to be humble about it.

The biggest hurdle Vic's case had was getting his legal referral from a non-practicing lawyer. I'm cautiously optimistic Null will at least avoid stumbling out the gate that hard. Besides, I was just going to spend the money I donated on drinks anyway.
Regardless of the majority opinion on Ty at this moment, what I can't understand to this day is how his entire team fucked up this hard. Wasn't he part of a successful firm? If he was a lawyer for 20+ years, I would imagine he wouldn't get any business if he fucked over each and every one of his clients like he did to Vic. So why did he choose this case to shit the bed? Or is law in the US just a business where you can masquerade as a good lawyer by word of mouth for decades, and get paid insane money to destroy your clients' lives?

It's genuinely depressing.
I put 80% blame on Ty and 20% on Chupp.
Things could had been different if he was actually prompt with notaries and submissions.
Even back then I was genuinely concerned with how much Ty treated it like a game; non stop streaming with Nick and just nonchalant demeanor.
Niggerfaggot, stop streaming, shut the fuck up, and just focus on your job.
But you didn't, did you?
Yeah, in retrospect, the amount of time Ty spent on Nick's show should have been a red flag (that includes the stupid shirts Null was complaining about earlier).

I know there's a game lawyers play where they wait till the last minute to make their submissions in order to give the other side the least amount of time to formulate a response, but there are safe limits to that. I recall at one point Ty waited till the absolute last minute, and his connection to the court's computer system failed and crashed because there were a lot of exhibits, or a high page count, or something.

And the telephone notary shit is just stupid. There is no excuse for that. None.

I fear they will be rewarded until they are considered too far up the privilege pyramid and get replaced by a Bipoc.
There is some pushback by smaller entities and individual artists against localizers messing with their work, but the big players in Japan are now starting to involve localizers into their production process.
Japan doesn't mind taking Larry Fink's money.
It's not that I think the people who end up replacing them will be better people, I just think these particular bad people are going to find themselves on their way out. Not because of justice, goodness or anything like that, but just because younger people who are more savvy are going to come after their jobs.

Well I don't agree with the results but, I strongly believe we can all learn something from this situation. I'm not an attorney and I'm not that smart but, I do pay attention to how things go in world and I'd like to think that has helped me in situations Vic was in.

#1 Avoid lawsuits if you can. No matter what happens the attorney(s) will always be rewarded, you at best are 50/50. They say never to bet on the sports team you love because you will never properly gauge the expected results. People go into lawsuits angry, angry and self righteous, they believe they are right so strongly the judge cannot possibly not see it their way. I am not judging Vic but, If we look at Patrick "fat faggot" Tomlinson we can see what happens when someone has more motivation than brains. Don't be a Patrick.

#2 A good attorney will tell you :Here's what happens if you win, here's what happen if you lose, are you prepared for both those situations? I am not commenting on Ty Beard or Nick Rikieta. In complete honesty I have not paid much attention to this situation at all. I have seen with my own eyes and ears scumbag attorneys who will tell you whatever the fuck you want to hear as long as they get that retainer.

#3 Judges, attorneys and people involved in litigation should not assumed to be smart, moral or altruistic in any manner. Please keep in mind the judge who sentences a man to life in prison for raping and murdering was in all likeliness a criminal attorney, very very possibly a criminal defense attorney. 10 Years prior to throwing that man in jail, he might have been advising someone exactly like him on what to say on the stand to avoid prison. Just because someone made it through law school does not mean that they should be considered smart.

Ty should be, at a minimum, censured for this shit. I won't outright say disbarred, because that's reserved for the most extreme of lawyer misconduct.

But if he had any decency, he'd make up the difference in Vic's legal bills.
I dunno man.

Making merch about your fuckup which cost your client $600 fucking thousand dollars after taking money from hundreds/thousands of people? Nahh. Fuck that. Ty should be disbarred. Nick became a multi-millionaire off Weeb Wars.

Send that shit to Vic for the loss and MAYBE people will forgive him for fucking up Vic's life. Monica and company made it so that Vic would never find work again. Nick and Ty made it so that Vic would go bankrupt off whatever savings he has left. Nick and Ty are worse than Monica and Marchi. Remember, Vic originally didn't want to sue.

Or is law in the US just a business where you can masquerade as a good lawyer by word of mouth for decades, and get paid insane money to destroy your clients' lives?
Lol yes. If you think lawsuits are bad; Workers Comp and Insurance Companies own the Law Firms. International Workers Comp Foundation is in many states Unionizing Doctors, Lawyers, State Government into convention centers with State Seals annually where they can talk with each other behind a convention price tag while using state funds to fund each one. My advice don't get hurt, every lawyer and doctor has been given a run down to fuck you over no matter what.

UPDATE
Judge Chupp has re-ruled on the awards for Monica Rial and Ron Toye and Vic now owes $376,592.93 in total to those two defendants.

Vic previously owed them $100,000 before he appealed.

I hate Ty as much as the next guy, but I really think people aren't giving Chupp the hate he deserves. Ty made an error, that yes, should NEVER have been made to begin with, but the fact that Chupp allowed the previous version of the document to be retracted despite being after the deadline, but then didn't allow the corrected version of the document to be submitted? Brings my piss to an absolute boil that bullshit like that can even happen. A single line of a 200 page document needed correction, so instead of striking that one line in the absence of allowing a correction, the entire thing was thrown out, and they were then told "Ok, now that I've thrown out your evidence, what evidence do you have that calling someone a pedophile and saying that you have advance knowledge that they will be arrested soon, when you know that isn't the case, is defamation? No evidence? I guess it's not defamation, then." If Ty has a single scrap of integrity, he will pay every cent of this out of his own pocket, but holy fuck, there is no universe where the shit Chupp did gets a pass.
