A poor, sad ending to a case where hopes were so high at the outset. A few lessons learned:

- Nick, Vic, and Beard were not as pure or saintly as portrayed and the tribalism was rabid in the heydays of yore, but Vic never deserved this.

I have to agree with the consensus here that whatever Chupp may have done unfairly Ty is still overwhelmingly responsible for how this case went. When Lemoine filed 2000 pages of verbal vomit in a blatant attempt to waste time and run up the bill, Chupp was probably not happy. However, Lemoine was not the one who brought the lawsuit. Ty Beard was responsible for dropping this bullshit on his desk, meaning if he didn't want the judge's anger directed at him, his job was to conduct himself like a professional and provide contrast in the eyes of the court. Instead, he resorted to the same chickenshit games that he decried on stream, running his filings right down to the wire and while completely failing to do his due diligence in verifying that critical evidence was submitted and verified properly.

This was an especially bad look given that he spent hours on livestream pumping up Nick's numbers and his own ego. That's a great way to give off the impression that you're treating the law like a game and if Chupp at all looked into his internet behavior that was probably his primary takeaway. He made it plainly evident that Lemoine and twitter lawyers were getting under his skin, which is a textbook case of feeding the troll. He responded with Texas tough guy bluster both publicly and in his filings where it absolutely did not belong. The technicality upon which the case was dismissed was just the latest in a string of screw ups that he had already let slide. The notarization was simply the straw that broke the camel's back.The end result was the the only one who ended up fearing the beard was his own damn client.

Ty Beard did everything humanly possible to make Chupp blame him for the mess in his courtroom. He completely failed to read the room. He mishandled the case so badly that Vic would have unironically been better off taking the shoe eater's advice and consulting a PR firm. Maybe there's a reason his firm has been hemorrhaging founding partners over the years to the point that it went from Beard Harris Bullock and Hughes to Beard Harris Christie. I genuinely have to wonder if eventually it's just going to be Beard.

Fuck this guy.
