The Final Fantasy Thread

I'm rushing through the demo without skipping the cutscenes and the first 30 minutes had 3 minutes' worth of battles. It was a very cinematic experience for the other 27 minutes, albeit with pretty wonky controls and animations.

My muscle memory came back quickly, so the "Normal" difficulty setting is pretty easy.

The Tifa waifu weebs are gonna be disappointed.

Real talk I'm hyped over the soundtrack. It's the one thing modern square is still getting right. My only beef is that I wish they would separate the full tracks over the 30 second cutscene stinger stuff.

Now I have to find someone to borrow a PS5 from.

At any rate, I am looking forward to Rebirth. As someone here who actually is intrigued about the new direction the story is taking, and as a big (recent) fan of FFVII, this looks pretty awesome.

The demo was too cutscene heavy, especially with those shitty sections where you have to clean up mako gas. I imagine it’ll pick up though because this is the prologue.
 
I gave up on the demo after the sidling and wall-climbing sections that reminded me of Horizon Zero Dawn and the latest God of War games. This shit looks and feels extremely corporate. Game design by committee. A committee led by a retard that never should've been promoted past graphics and character design.

Not that much of a boob reduction, at least to my eyes.

I guess since it's now open-world, there are going to be more expected means of travel. Though given all we saw in the trailer, looks like the more creative methods don't come until later. Until then, you gotta power through with the boring options.
 
Extremely slow starts are all too common unfortunately. Though I'd also argue that a few of FromSoft's games don't really get good until later on as well (though admittedly, they don't take as long as many others).

At the very least, I'm much more interested in VII Rebirth compared to XVI (seriously, the overly grim tone and no sci-fi elements in the latter was a huge turn-off for me).

How did FFXVI have no sci-fi elements? I mean the entire story was essentially about an alien invasion. Not to mention all the fallen technology. Grim tone is a matter of opinion, but I personally liked it.

A quote I remember from the gym is “I can’t get enough of those muscles” or something. I remember they were the overly gay bodybuilders obsessed with each others muscles. Then there was Andrea from the honeybee inn who I just found hilarious because he’s every gay stereotype in one character. I like faggot characters that are joke characters, just not faggots.
