It has a lot to do with the duming down of the American populace at large over the last 60 years (especially in the last 20 or so, with the rise of comedian newscasters). Watch Firing Line with William F. Buckley and you will be amazed that how cogent and well thought out the points made are and how generally intelligent the people arguing are (even if they are making bad arguments). America as a whole doesn't value education and learning like it used to just like it doesn't see value in hard labor. This probably is the most important reason we live in clown world today since an intelligent wouldn't vote for the vast majority people in power today. We're essentially living in Idiocracy today and journos being retards only reflects that.

Yeah I was just about to bring up Buckley. Most episodes of Firing Line are available on youtube (which I highly encourage people watch), and literally every episode mogs the fuck out of anything coming out today. That's not to say that Buckley was a more honest figure back then (since its well known he was a CIA asset), but the fact that the show producers respected the audience enough to have college level discussions instead of the WWE bullshit slop that we have now just depresses me. We really have fallen so far both culturally and intellectually.

Shit like this is why you can debate which classics from the Western and American canon are worth reading on a personal level, but you can't debate the totality of it's worth to an individual and to society as a whole. The death of classical education marked the end oaf America as a functioning republic that's imperfect but still striving for that goal for a better Union and the beginning of America the oligarchic playground.

I cared for my grandfather when he was absolutely decimated by Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease, up until the bitter end. Biden's mannerisms and speech infliction hauntingly reminds me of how my grandfather used to speak and behave right before he really tanked.

I hate Biden, I think he's a piece of shit. I want him out.
But seeing him speak without someone interfering was like looking into my past with my grandfather. He had moments of lucidity where he realized he said something that made zero sense and he'd trail off and get real quiet as he tried to figure out how to properly articulate...but it wouldn't come to him.

And this is what we're being allowed to see. The situation behind closed doors must be far worse. But all the signs are there that he will continue to decline and the decline will only speed up. It happened so quickly with my grandfather. It's terrifying to think someone in that bad of a situation is in such a powerful position.

this is a big problem beyond normal spin, there's a SHITLOAD of the populace across the modern voting spectrum who have helped with an elderly family member who did this sort of thing, and they probably don't _hate_ Biden for it, but they def notice that he's really not right by a longshot

Anyone remember when Biden tried to give the spotlight to an Indiana Republican who had been killed in a car crash a month prior? There is something significantly wrong with Biden and he has been going downhill fast not only the last few years, but since he was VP. I had to take care of my grandmother who had dementia and it is scary how much he reminds me of my grandmother.

There are mechanisms in place to deal with states that defy SCOTUS. One of them involves cutting off federal funding which I can't imagine would bode well for a state like Hawaii.

And I honestly don't know how the feds will handle this. On one hand, you have an asleep at the wheel dementia patient running the executive branch and his party's rabidly anti 2A. On the other hand, Hawaii is openly challenging the fed's authority and they are threatening the Supreme Court's ability to render decisions. It could go either way.
