I remember when the only way to buy groceries was with cash or an actual check
I remember when you could get actual paper checks from your place of employment, now the paperless direct deposit shit is mandatory. Not necessarily a bad thing, but there was something about holding a physical paycheck that made me feel more accomplished than an electronic pay statement ever has.

A weird thing for me, personally, is that kids today have access to more entertainment than possibly any other generation of humans in history, but none of them appear to have actually seen any films or TV shows.

I can't tell you how many times I've referenced something and got laughs or wry smiles or nods of recognition from everyone else in the room, only the receive confused, stony silence from the zoomer demographic. And these are not necessarily obscure things, either. These are things you would at least have heard of.

Like, how have you never seen Robocop? Or any of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies? I swear, I met one kid who had never seen the original Jurassic Park, which baffled me because they put that fucking film on TV literally every Christmas. That's a movie you can see just by being alive.

I’m sure this will play right into me feeling old (bitching about the younger generation) but that’s because Zoomers have the attention span of a gnat. If it’s not a Tik Tok video they can digest in under 5 seconds, it’s FAR too complicated for them to keep up on.

I still get a paper check by request

So I assume when you were in your early 20's you had watched all the movies that came out in the 10-20 years before you were born?

I'm a late millennial and I never watched Robocop, nightmare on Elm Street, etc. because I didn't care to watch it then and I certainly don't care now. I definitely wouldn't get upset at zoomers and alphies not knowing the references to the media I grew up with because why should they care? They have their own generation's media, it's just as shit as every other's.

What makes me feel old? I realized a couple days ago that I played my favorite vidya for the first time 20 years ago, my favorite band disbanded 10 years ago, and my current favorite band is 7 years in. (Good new music does still exist if you get off your ass and find it.)

To be a fly on the wall when south park came out must have been a wild time.
The Simpsons quickly became intolerable to watch around the time they made Lisa into a feminist, then we had entire episodes about Lisa whining about mannequins being too thin.

Everything is a victim of wokeness now. Even South Park has lost all edginess and sucks up to feminism/black women and TERFs now.

For anyone who hasn't seen any of the new Beavis and Butthead, it might appear the same stuff but it's been "cleaned up" a lot and their manager at Burger World has been blackwashed.

We aren't allowed edgy and un-PC stuff anymore.

I Remember the Simpsons became shit after around season 10 when homer morphed into something called Jerk-ass homer that was more just a bully than a lovable yet incompetent retard. But it seems like all but American dad has turned into the final form of what they should never have been.

I Saw that south-park did an entire special satirizing the Panderverse but I haven't seen it. When it comes to south park being edgy, I don't think they really can be anymore. It's not out of being incompetent writers or topics to discuss it's just that the time it came out in had kid's always 100% innocent on the shows that were broadcasted. Suddenly you flip that around and thats what made it the most edgy thing ever. Not to say that their isn't still some good comedy but that time period is gone and nowadays its simply not as hard hitting.

I think this is at least possible in that time period. When you only have 4 legendary movie series compared to 200 plus Netflix specials their simply aint enough hours in the day. Their was alot less volume and alot more direct access to things. You had movie stores and theaters and that was it. They could consolidate those films for whatever reason. Nowadays you have 720* of access to everything.

Epic rap battles from history is from a different time in you-tube.
True, but I wasn't referring to that. In germany we used to have quite the active battlerap scene from which quite alot of now famous german Rappers originated from. We had the VBT Splash, rappers.in, JBB, Reimliga, all of them now defunct or are at deaths door.

Jokes on you. They are still being used
Where at? Like do they still make them like cassettes?

I got made fun of every day by my mom and sister for not going paperless, but i like actually seeing what I got instead of just dumping numbers into other numbers

Yeah I can agree with what your saying. I grew up with 80s movies because my parents and best friend recommended them to me and movies from the 40s-60s because I loved bugs bunny and wanted to see more stuff from that era.
