The Rackets cars were weekly series-style Late Models, much cheaper than even an ARCA car. ARCA is just a matter of money but it's a heck of a step up for this guy especially since nobody popped up and said he's any goddamn good.

When you're running Late Models or especially Street Stocks it's a bit of a roll of the dice if you make it through okay every time you go out. The thing that impressed me is he really fucked up both of those cars, they weren't a little wrecked.

Talladega is... a bold move. Whole different skillset than the short tracks. Should be fun to see if anything happens. Weirdass sponsors aren't something that's terribly unusual in the lower series, either.

Having done my homework this Cyberfrog deal seems like he's literally just mapping 'superhero' onto fucking Pepe?

Billy Tucci was a big deal back in the day, and even EVS has voiced his respect for Tucci's status as a legendary indie creator who doesn't need CG. So, no, even though Tucci might hang around EVS and his crew, he has a well-established career without having to be dependent on EVS and his whims.

The FNT crew associate with whomever they like. They don't give a fuck about what EVS thinks. I get the impression that Nolan is a lot more mature than a lot of the people in CG. He's not interested in petty high school drama, he just wants to sell his books, so he'll appear on shows from both the CG crowd and FNT crowd without feeling the need to pick sides. I think EVS treads more cautiously with Nolan, because he knows that he can't manipulate him the way he manipulates so many others. EVS must realize that if he tries to excommunicate Nolan, Nolan will be just fine. He'll always be welcome to advertise on FNT shows.

1) Charlie's London fulfilled her book, funded a second book which is in progress and has managed to get published in the traditional manner with a Queen Elizabeth biopic comic. Her need to crowdfund work is coming to an end, which since Comicsgate as a whole has yet to achieve that, is something of a fork in the road. The "Comicsgate Ladies Night" panel show exploded when Piper decided to start drama streaming from the slums, triggering Cholly to stage an intervention to stop her from turning to the "dawk side of ceegee".

2) Billy Tucci is CG but has actual influence in the comic industry so the whisper network can't really do anything to him without expecting serious retaliation and the "Core Comicsgaters" can't make him obey their useless boycotts or subject him to shit tests so he just kind of does whatever he wants as a semi-retired creator who's been in independent publishing for 40+ years. He had some overprints of his Shi Omnibus so he rang up Steve Geppi (owner of Diamond Distribution) to sell his extra stock at local comic shops, just like that.

3) The secret to Graham Nolan's double dipping is that Nerdrotic and the FNT people are and always have been colossal starfuckers and clout whores (eg: Zack Snyder). Despite supposedly being against the mainstream, they crave legitimization from said mainstream more than anything else. It's something of their achilles heel, but it means there's always an open invite for creator of Bane Graham Nolan. Although Gary visibly grimaces whenever Graham starts talking about how great Comicsgate is.

Wow man, here I thought the decline of the American comic industry was related to stuff like being locked in an obsolete distribution model, Marvel and DC selling out to Disney and WB execs who managed their characters as 'brands' and 'intellectual property' above that of living stories. Or the neoliberal programming permeating the executive level above the 'creative talent' of these media corps, but also many other possible causes. Now I know it was because Dan Slott told a troll to fuck off on the CBR forums in 2010 and the tweets of Joe Glass and Danny Lore. Thanks Simple Zack. Kelsey seems to be kind of a wild card. He lives somewhere (presumably alone) in Louisiana, and there'll be times when he'll just disappear from all contact with people for long periods of time with no announcement before the fact. Seems to have his own demons and personal issues. Seems like kind of independent, loner hermit by nature.

I kind of like it as a stylized piece. If it was a five dollar book with a couple dozen pages I could see it doing alright, but I'm guessing it was ten pages for fifty dollars or something stupid.

It was a $20 book per the usual con-artist crowd funding regiment. $5 would still be too generous for something that looks like a high schooler threw up while he was bored in class.
 
Indiegogo says EVS has run 29 campaigns that have so far raised $6,912,703 but I can only track down 27 of them.

The original Jawbreakers book (the one he launched in 2015, never delivered and gave away for free in 2018 is also amazingly bad. Simple Zack drew that one all himself. Its a pity the world lost him as an artist. I just can't understand why Marvel and DC didn't hire him.

This is just speculation on my part, but I think Ethan kept Mandy close because one of her campaigns was instrumental in him gaining ownership of the ComicsGate trademark.
Cridious passed the TM to Ethan, but apparently he was only able to do so due to one of Summer's ashcans:

Vic King always seemed like a broke guy on welfare begging for cheap art commissions 12 hours a day on streams nobody watched. "I will draw for food." The guy seemed to have an audience in the single digits. He was always mocked as the bottom of the barrel in CG even before this came out.

The whole CG slums thing is full of really marginal people. Lots of broke people, people who don't work, have drug problems, are sex workers, are on disabilities of one sort or another.....or have problems with the law. Not necessarily to the level of Vic's awfulness, but not exactly role models either.

Anyone know what triggered Vikki and her CG lunch table to go after him? Vic King is so marginal that this seems like it would have been colateral damage in some other feud in CG.
