I think he's still a current cop, I don't think I've ever heard any mention of him being retired.
I'll keep watching if the production crew boomer wrangles him. It's pretty clear Roy uploaded the last couple videos on his own, or with minimal input from the old production crew. They need to get him a lapel mic setup, fix the acoustics in his boomer cave (or explain to him why Paul recorded 99% of his videos outdoors), make him write a script, and more importantly: have an editor edit and release the final product. The transition cuts were straight out of the 90s and he repeated his talking points, but it seemed like it was because he forgot he said it earlier and not for emphasis like when Paul repeated himself.
My other gripe is that he has a lifetime of experience that is different than Paul's, but his first video was the pistol equivalent of "hey did you guys know you can shoot .38 special in revolvers chambered in .357 magnum?!" You're an Oregon cop with decades of experience, tell us what homeless crackheads use to shoot each other with, or tell us what is most effective at removing homeless crackheads, don't tell us about fuddlore and broscience.
