Really, we should have just killed Osama and Al-Qaeda and left that region of the world alone outside of that. The idea is fairly basic, make it sound like it might come to the point but meander to it until you run out of time. Basing it on life history also gets small relatability points but the main focus is running the clock. It's boring as hell and that's the point.

It's a method to avoid coming up with an answer on the spot either because you were not expecting the question or because your answer if you were honest would be detrimental.

It is fairly clear avoidance but in a boring way that will be lost rather rapidly with time. It prevents the claims of having no answer or having a bad answer.

Osama Bin Laden was hiding in the fucking Afghanistan/Pakistan border and Al-Qaeda was based in that country and was allied with Pakistani and Afghan officials so at least the fucking impetus for war made sense despite it being handled VERY poorly. Saddam Hussein had jackshit to do with any of the 9/11 bombings. We just wanted to oust him because of the bullshit WMD charges and of course because of the oil in the region. We then fumbled and now Iraq is friends with the eternal enemy of the US and Israel, Iran. Maybe we should have let Saddam have his pig pen, as well as Qaddafi and Assad.
