General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

ARCHIVE you fucking fools.

doki-statement.png

I was ready to move on, I had made my last statement and I haven’t looked at anything regarding my past for a full week. I didn’t look at anything regarding legal documents or anything regarding my situation since I moved back to Doki. I wanted to be hopeful for the future and never interact with that side again. So to see it all come back and reopen a wound that I was ready to heal from and to have to talk to my lawyer again on how to respond.

The document mentioned was at first made to document my thoughts and history with evidence so that my lawyer can see the general picture of what was going on, and if there were issues that should be addressed. It was first made during my darkest time mentally and I wrote everything on my mind little by little at that time. I made the document thinking that it was never going to be public to anyone but to my lawyer. Although it was a document filled with my personal information as well privacy information that should not be public, there were no other addresses or specific locations mentioned. Regarding a recording, this was not intended to be anything other than a distribution test for planning of a collaborative event between two people, which happened to be left over from one test recording, and I never recorded any other conversations with anyone. The recording was never shown anywhere even in a legal setting and there are no other records. However, I regret that it was mentioned and I am sorry to all parties affected for the misunderstanding in this.

I requested that I just wanted to move on. Sometimes I didn’t hear anything for days from the lawyers on the other side and felt like I’d be alone and isolated for a long time. It made it so hard for me mentally. On Feb 5th, my lawyer discussed and said it will be best to show the document I wrote to the other lawyers as we have not heard from them for a week or any negotiation talks or given a meeting to discuss after my request to part. It was never intended to be used for anything else, I’ve asked my lawyer to convey that and have communication that the document as it was written wasn’t going to be released anywhere, and my lawyer did so when sending the document. Less than two hours after my lawyer sent the document, the termination notice came out. I was very shocked, but thought that was the last time I will hear or think about the document and that this, personally and my own opinion, was the end of the lawyers and legal involvement.

All of the communication was done between lawyers in Japanese. Things are not black and white and everything gets more complicated and muddled when lawyers are involved in a different country. When things are conveyed to multiple parties through different degrees of communication, everything turns into different narratives and different translations. I thought it was over and I've accepted what happened and ready to move on. Everything I post to the public about the situation was a response. If it was a month ago, it will have been different as I was angry but I was also very alone in my head. But it's not a month ago and I've accepted it. I wanted it to be neutral and private but now the whole world is involved and the public is watching every step that happens.

I am not perfect and I have faults. I had to watch my dad cry and break down in front of me for the first time in my life last night. Despite everything that has happened, please show kindness to all parties involved, there are real people behind the monitors. One of the reasons why I wanted this to be private is that the internet can be a cruel place and I knew this would happen the moment this type of notice drops. What I didn't reveal to anyone and only my parents and therapist knew was that it was not one attempt but two, which happened a few weeks after the first. My parents found me in time after searching for me for hours before anything happened. I was in a really dark place and I do not wish this to anyone. No one should go through what I went through. I reveal this now not for pity but to state that no life, no matter what, should be risked for ego or winning anything. There are no winners in this. Please don't make it like high school. Treat everyone like adults and with some empathy and kindness.

For those who wish to see receipts or documents or anything else, hoping I will reveal them, I'm sorry but these are the things that should be private and if needed, between lawyers. Revealing private documents and talking about the details within will only just make things worse and more complicated as outside parties get involved and will just hurt everyone. No one deserves to be pushed over the edge. So many people have got hurt and involved even if they were innocent bystanders. In the end, I will always be here to respond and that is the only thing I will do in public. I hope this will be the last statement I have to make.

By the way, something that pretty much nobody talked about is that screenshots from Elira's video show that management approved audio in Selen's MV, and the reason why Selen didn't have a greenlight to post it was Mysta and Nina appearing in it, which caused some extra checks from Nijisanji. IMO, you can't even blame them. The reason why Niji and Holo are so anal about perms isn't because they are evil or obsessed with micromanaging their talents, it's because fucking Capcom almost deleted Mio's channel with copyright strikes once. One of the most insane aspects of Japan is that corporations there are punished for normal actions while evil actions are rewarded.
This is nonsense. AnyColor owns Mysta and Nina's personas. There is no reason they should be worried about any copyright issue. Even in the remote chance they did, what would their former employees do? Sue a foreign multimillion dollar company because it used characters they voiced in a music video for a few seconds? Yeah, good luck with that. This is completely different than having to deal with the likes of Capcom which is a bigger company, with better lawyers, and , most important of all, shares the same legal jurisdiction as AnyColor in Japan. @close is right. It's asinine.

Her lawyer actually fucked up here I think. It's hard to say without knowing the contents of the document, but revealing it verbatim to the opposing side looks like an awful move to me, and seems to have triggered the three pages.

Personally, I would have said something like "look here Nijiniggers, I have attestation to this, this, this, this, and this, which put you in jeopardy of laws x, y, z, m, and n, with possible fines of up to Xbn Yen, you'd better fucking respond" rather than emailing the whole document over with an NDA.

Note: Doki did nothing wrong.

(To be clear, I would absolutely use the word "niggers" in a legal document).

Niji didn't have to say shit. They could have shut their mouths until their next mandatory shareholder meeting. Their entire handling of this has been bizarre.

And on that note, are we ready to admit that NijiEN has more than likely effectively gone rogue from the rest of the company and has no oversight at all. There is no way in hell they coordinated the release of that EN liver video and statement with the CEO's video. The two videos were literally the polar opposite in terms of tone and messaging. I doubt EN knew what Riku was going to say in that video and how he was going to conduct it, and I seriously doubt the Japanese HQ okayed any part of the EN liver video, or the subsequent Twitter statement. At this point, EN are basically just doing whatever the hell they want, and the Japanese company is just clueless.
I thought that too, but Doki's lawyers are in contact with Nijisanji lawyers which would presumably come from the main branch (further confirmed by Doki's latest tweet). How would EN talents have access to what Doki sent over if Japanese lawyers are the ones receiving the documents? If there's some split in the company I imagine it's between the corporate/financial side and the talent management side if anything

She pointed out to that there were no addresses or information except hers that were in there. So either Elira was lying or she was just fed shit to say. She also said the recording was purely for testing or some shit, so another lie caught there. She just debunked whatever shit that stream said

Edit: Niji is stuck in hard place, they either admit that they illegally showed other people the document and have the livers lie about the addresses or admit they lied to their livers about the infos

I don't get this recording narrative. Testing for what? Why would she even need, or rather want, to record Vox? Also, why would she or her lawyers share this information with the other side in the first place if it is inconsequential (Note : I assume she had to have shared this information with the other side because otherwise how would they have known)?

On the flip side, the address information narrative was completely unconvincing. While I'm sure that Selen might know Elira, Enna, and Millie's addresses, why on Earth would that appear in any kind of medical, legal, or whatever type of documents and records her lawyers shared with Nijisanji's lawyers? If Selen wanted to go scorch Earth and dox them, she could have just leaked that crap to the internet anonymously.

I think the more pressing issue is they willingly revealed who the bullies were to throw Selen under the bus and paint her as the bad guy because if Selen didn't have their names on the document, then they should've been quiet. BUT in their infinity wisdom, they just gave the wolves the scent of whom was making her life hell further painting a picture of whom was part of the mean girls clique.

Messy is an understatement. It doesn't matter how much she wishes everyone to move on. Death was nearly on the table twice, and now people will want a pound of flesh against those 5 for humoring the idea.

Niji looks shitter and shitter..

That " En statement" blew up in their face stupendously and now people hate the three in that video with a passion.

They should've said nothing
Not just those three, didn't they mention two others were mentioned directly in the papers? Enna and Millie? So five people are suddenly being the scapegoats and catching the shit now for some fucking reason, and whoever wrote that script is throwing everyone under the bus as hard as they fucking can.

the rights to the characters are owned by Niji themselves. They definitely made up that rule on the spot to fuck with Doki even more.

It has always been company's policy to completely remove any imagery of graduated talents from any merch and promotion materials. Deleting all videos from the channel is also a standard response, and Nina had to specifically ask management to keep them for at least a limited time. I know that Nijisanji doesn't deserve benefit of the doubt at this point, but the way they've been strictly following that guideline seems to imply that 'delete everything after graduation' is probably a contractual agreement between them and talents.
Even in the remote chance they did, what would there former employees do? Sue a foreign multimillion dollar company because it used characters they voiced in a music video for a few seconds? 'Let is slide, it's not a big deal' is not how Japanese companies operate. Yes, they should've made NijiEN a separate company with Western attitudes. Yes, that's why most creative livers already left NijiEN. Yes, it's obvious to us that Mysta and Nina's VAs wouldn't sue Nijisanji for a cameo appearance. It's not so obvious to the Japanese. They likely don't have to be this strict about it (given that, for example, Pekora had Rushia in her intro long after she was terminated), but that's Nijisanji company-wide rules that everybody had to follow and Selen was expecting preferential treatment.

The occasional thread is being removed from /r/Nijisanji now. One is the initial posting of her X post, which is still getting new comments somehow, and another was a thread titled "ANYCOLOR YOU ALL SOME BITCH ASS NIGGERS" which I would have left up.
Deleting all videos from the channel is also a standard response
Either you're ass at quoting, or nobody said anything to do with that at all, nor is it relevant to anything. IF there was some clause to "delete everything", that doesn't prevent anything new being made.

Also I may be misremembering, but wasn't there another case of graduated livers' designs appearing in someone else's content at some point, and it was fine?
Mysta and Nina's VAs
They're called KuroK9 and Matara Kan.

I think it's time for you to retrieve Riku's cock from your throat.

lawyers do get stuff wrong sometimes, especially in "weird" cases that they don't deal with usually. I don't mean her lawyer sucks, but if he's not used to dealing with nip corpo autism, things like that can happen were things get misinterpreted and latched onto. remember "everything you say can and will be used against you", you wouldn't believe how petty and asshole-ish different parties can be.

It's incredible to me how professional Doki has been in contrast to the shameful, retarded, and baffling way Niji has approached this situation.
Usually, fans of the company could cope with the idea that the aggrieved party is lying for PR, but in this case Doki had no intention for this to become public, Niji entirely dug their own bed there.
It's like Niji continually challenges Doki to brawl and then always loses. Somehow the lone suicidal menhara Vtuber has been more rational than billions of dollars of Japanese autism.

The lawyers communicate only in japanese? No wonder there's miscommunication. It should be easier to find lawyers who both speak english than japanese, right?
A lot of Vox's stans were musing that he was in " Manipulation " mode whatever tf that means.
Someone dug up the old news about him being a groomer. Maybe that's related to it? https://archive.md/2021.12.24-10065...6653770752/caution-on-vox-akumas-past-actions
Note that this was discussed here over 2 years ago and is nothing new. Maybe it's a reaction to the Elira video.
