so i'm gonna armchair psychologist a bit- I think that Papa Frig is being more controlling and meaner and his possible "OCD" is flaring up because of stress. he feels like he has no control in his life at all at the moment with mama frig's cancer and is trying to regain some by bullying staph. that doesn't mean that this bullying is okay, because for once i think i'm on staph's side- it's her house, she can keep it as filthy as she wants, and to me it sounds like she keeps it pretty clean and he's just looking for something to bitch about and targets books on a coffee table. it's fascinating to me that a licensed social worker can't stop thinking about herself for two seconds and think about why he might be acting like this and instead threatens to go no contact while her mom is possibly dying.

Narcissists are very much all or nothing when it comes to their surroundings. Their house is either hoarded out or else so immaculate that it's sterile.
We've seen Staph's 'shrine' before, and it was a coffee table crowded with junk and rubbish, while everything else was utterly devoid of personality, and looked like a hotel room. I can absolutely believe that Papa Frigly is a neat freak, but I have no doubt that Staph is a slob. It's not a happy combination for anyone.

I can totally believe that it was her dad who meddled with the cat adoption. Her mom might even be hinting not to get her hopes up again for another cat because he will intervene again.
I can also believe that her parents have control of her money, including her rent, because they know she can't budget. Until now, I believe she hasn't had her own money? So the Frigs are paying her rent and her dad wants her to keep her apartment nice. We saw the surfaces of her bedroom at her parents and the background of her recent druid ritual videos. It does not look neat. After all, if her dad has to come over and clean the place, there must be a reason for it. He knows he will also have to clean up after a cat if she gets one. That's true, but:
1. Papa Frigly has hung around for multiple bouts of his spouse's cancer
2. He didn't kick Staph out of the house when she made a serious attempt to destroy the family reputation by grooming kids into believing she was possessed by Michael Jackson
3. He hasn't disowned her even though there is no possible benefit to having her fucking up his life
I can absolutely believe that he is a difficult person to get along with, but the only time narcissistic spouses bother to stick around when their other half gets sick, it's because it benefits them in some way.
