They see an overlap between the stated struggles of the IRA and Hamas. Colonization kind of shit where the British and Israelis are interchangeable. They're nationalists and socialists, but not national socialists.

It's both. During WWI Britain pledged support for Arab independence from the Ottomans in exchange for help against them, and also issued the Balfour Declaration to get Jews onside. Then the war ended and the British Mandate for Palestine happened. From that point on Palestinians were anti-British, and Jews would eventually become the same after Britain realised they'd fucked up and tried to limit Jewish emigration to Palestine. By the end of the Mandate period Britain had alienated both sides and lost control completely.

The British made a lot of promises they didn't intend to keep to a lot of different groups during WW1. In addition to the Jews and the Arabs I think they also promised the Kurds an independent homeland. On territory they were also promising the Arabs would be part of the independent Arab homeland. They kept their promise to the French to divide up the Middle East with them, but I think they also promised some land there to the Italians, which they obviously never got.

No, it's even simpler: "everything we want is good, and everything we don't like is bad." Therefore when woke is a good thing, it means all good things. And if something which was good yesterday (and therefore woke) is then shown to be bad or harmful today, it is therefore no longer woke. You can literally replace their terms ("Woke" "fascism" "socialism" "heteronormative" etc) with just "good thing" and "bad thing" and their sentences make 10x more sense.

(I'm leaning into Palestine's side because of what Israel did in the past, but acting childish and jumping to conclusions like this is not it. I can't do much myself for the sake of my mental health other than boycotting, though some companies are unavoidable because they are monopolies.)
