I can't go into much detail, but the internal power struggles, at least at the state level, are fucking brutal. Basically, on the younger side, if you've even got a whiff of DC about you, something as simple as an internship with a house member, you're getting thrown under the bus as hard as humanly possible. I've watched 3 state board members get couped since last presidential election and even some rules changes to strip them of traditional 'former member' powers. Its as nasty as boardroom shenanigans get without fistfighting being a possibility.

So I've finally sat through the whole interview. Putin's given reasons for the war are mostly the same nonsensical bullshit reasons that vatniggers will usually shill at you such as "muh denazification", however when you hear the entirety of Putin's speech, there's a truth to be perceived in the margins between the nonsense.

Basically it boils down to this: Putin views Ukraine as a satellite state of Washington and NATO being weaponized and pointed at Russia, Ukraine's position and alliances are a means of applying political pressure to Russia, sort of like the situation between the U.S. and Cuba. Ukraine is just a vector for the West to fuck with Russia in various ways and could potentially pose some greater nebulous threat in the future. Putin is just taking Ukraine off the chessboard before it can be used to checkmate him somehow.
