I love how the Polish government gives more in welfare now then it did under communist rule in the 1980's. Not a socialist country btw.

American Catholics seem to generally support Republicans with the exception of Hispanic Catholics who may not do so for other political reasons.

I wonder that myself, too, honestly and frankly it's right that you asked.

For the purposes of trying to answer the original question by OP, I knew getting into the weeds on that particular issue would be an entirely separate post but wanted to touch on other reasons why some Catholics do still identify as Democrats even if they are anti-abortion. Believe me, if the vast majority of Democrats in the country weren't so intensely hostile towards anti-abortion Catholics, I'd be tempted to register as one but the two-party system is for squares anyways lol

What year was this written, 1995? Even then I don't think it was true, but in the Current Year, all three of those "red" industries have been flying the BLM-AIDS flag proudly and supporting every Current Thing for the past decade.

Name one multinational bank that doesn't have its name splashed across a pride float with men in lingerie twerking for children, or one defense contractor that doesn't have more HR DEI commissars than engineers.

Having Wal-Mart in the top 5 list of republican donors does not mean they're red leaning, if they're giving 3x as much to dems but pushed further down their donor list by even bigger megacorps. They're covering their bases for local races but still overwhelmingly blue.

You can even see this apples to apples with the US Government entry, which is 4.5x as large on the dem list, and Wells Fargo, which is over 2x as big but 10+ spots further down the list.

I agree that they aren't, but the Right is also on the side of asslicking corporations and millionaires for further self gain. And by that I mean politicians, not always the voters themselves.

It's trendy in the upperclass to be democrat, but it used to be trendy to be conservative. Corporate bubble, upper middle class and above people are loyal to their money and status. Like the rest of us, they want a stable living situation, but have been too enclosed in their bubble to not be tarded. If I were to guess, poor rightoids and poor leftoids have more in common with each other than upperclass versions, and upperclass versions have more in common with upperclass than lowerclass. There's substantial differences between the beliefs of course, but I'm trying to say the division of money is just as effective.

To be fair, I think Poles looking at their old people and not wanting grandma and grandpa to fall into homelessness is a sign of compassion. I don't know how many welfare queens exist in Poland, that's a fun question for a Polish poster.
