Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Nintendo Is Currently The Richest Company In Japan

As spotted by Install Base forums and X user Pierre485, Nintendo currently boasts a cash and cash equivalent value of roughly $11.44 billion when converted from Japanese yen. According to the data, Nintendo also has a debt value of... wait for it... Nothing. Zilch. Nada. No debt. It might also be surprising that a certain company called Sony hasn't made the list at all, but this is likely due in part to the firm's own debt value, which as of September '23, was reportedly totalled at $31.33 billion.

Latest rumours for the upcoming partner direct are a release date for Penny's Big Breakaway (that 3D platformer by the Sonic Mania developers) and a port/remaster of Endless Ocean. Y'know, that swimming game from the Wii.

Both Endless Ocean games would be nice to be honest, getting those to work with a controller on an emulator was quite the hassle some time ago.

These numbers are all fucked up. Nintendo is at a little over 100 billion USD yet they calculate it only at around 11.

Anyways, to the guy talking about GungHo, they just sold one of their units a week ago, that might have effected stuff. But yeah these numbers do not accurately reflect share values as of about a month ago (when I last checked) and seem to only be talking about cash on hand.

Have you even played the game? Its by far the best LttP clone ever made.
Maybe but it's not better than Odyssey, and probably half the other games listed after it. I'm not saying it's bad, it's probably well designed and I have some slight interest in it myself. The only thing holding me back is I think the art is kinda crappy.

Well looks like that’s not happening
@The Demon Pimp of Razgriz the rumors have betrayed you! :story:

I was leaning towards 2025 myself even before the rumors shifted to indicating 2025, so this doesn't come as a surprise to me. This is why people shouldn't trust rumors so much, they're fun to discuss but taking them as fact is naive.

The funny thing is that those systems are just as good if not better than Nintendo's handhelds, what made Nintendo so much more successful than it's competitors is the simple fact that Pokemon is exclusive to they're systems.
GB was trouncing the competition well before Pokemon. You can thank Tetris and Mario for that, as well as being cheaper with better battery life, and just Nintendo being the biggest name brand juggernaut at the time.

Pokemon just took GB into overdrive, it wasn't what made it more successful than the competition because it already was.

Based and plumber pilled. I'm surprised to see Square-Enix that high even after so much of their stuff had done poorly/mediocre.

That's fucking boring. I hope there's better than that...

@SSj_Ness for 2, specifically, they switched from the "early 2000s 2D Flash" style of the original to one that looked similar but in 3D. It ended up looking really good in practice and was a cut above the average indie trash it was competing with. There is a bit of indie stuff high up in my list but those games got there by actually being good and fun, I ordered it based on what I'd actually be most excited about if I were to be able to play it again for the first time.

Fair enough, and I was mostly just joking anyway, it's your list, you can obviously order it any way you like. And I did read the whole thing, it was interesting to see where you ranked things.

25 minutes huh. Aren't these usually a bit longer?
