De Lancie (Q) gets more invites than Wil.

I would be willing to bet Dwight Schultz (Reg Barclay) gets more invites than Wil.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, Barclay actually has a speaking role in one of the Next Gen films. Wil does not, barring some extended cut of Nemesis.

It's really funny because it feels like his cameo in Nemesis was just put in there so Berman and the Producers could dick with him by cutting it. Now with his blink and you miss it cameo in Picard Season 2 it totally makes his cameo in Nemesis non-canon because it's now canon he never returned to Starfleet. Poochie left with the Traveler to go to his home planet while mommy got a new son.

What really sux is that with a name like "nemesis" had the movie gone with something like Wesley returning as a villain (think "Fury" from voyager - when Kes went villainous) and it was him vs the crew for a couple hours, THAT would have probably gone down as one of the best movies ever.

I'm willing to bet the only reason that wasn't done was because no one wanted to spend 2- or 3-months filming with the prick.

Also, as interesting an idea as it might be for the character, in no wise could Wil Wheaton ever have pulled off being the big, intimidating villain. Lore would have been better for that, and Lore episodes are mostly trash ... but that's in spite of Brent Spiner's performance, not because of it.

I watched a video a year or so ago where he had Kate Mulgrew and Robert Picardo from Voyager over his house to make pizza in his outdoor pizza oven. Man gets alone with everyone while I'll bet Wil's local Domino's guy avoids him when dropping off pizza.
I saw another set of interviews for the recent Saturn awards and you have Michael Dorn, Brent Spiner, and Marina Sirtis all talking about how they are still really good friends and see each other regularly. Then you have Willy saying he loves Star Trek so much and he hopes they'll include him more. Poor Wil, still stuck at the proverbial kids table.

Also, try some white strips or something Wil. No wonder you wear a mask, your teeth look like you've been literally eating shit.

I mean ideally we should have gotten a big budget Q movie but ya know...

Besides Wil doesn't have to be the big, intimidating villain. He could have been a sneaky, conniving villain that was attacking the "family" from the inside. Not every Trek villain needs to be a big ham.

Dwight Schultz not only got a speaking role in a TNG movie, he was also brought back for Voyager for a half dozen or so episodes in seasons 6 and 7 years after that TNG movie. No one wanted Wheaton back for anything even though his character could have easily been used as a macguffin for practically any story they could come up with.

You're not going to bring Edward Furlong or Jake Lloyd to a sci-fi convention unless if you can't afford to get anyone else. Wil Wheaton may not be as much of a fuck-up as those other two but he definitely qualifies as a child star gone wrong.

And it's also like: Hey wanna see Wesley (a character that most people hated)? Well here's a completely different person that looks and sounds nothing like the character you once knew.

I like to think that most people are fortunate enough to not change so drastically (and for the worse) as they get older. Hopefully Wil is the exception and not the rule.

I know this has been somewhat hinted but on some level, I think Wheaton feels rejected because all these Hollywood pederasts didn't find him charming enough to molest. Has anyone seen that South Park episode in which Mr. Garrison is furious at his father because his father didn't find him attractive enough to fuck him as a child? I get the same vibe from Wheaton-the-Cretin. Which proves that he's actually more fucked-up than I gave him credit for.

I think that only upsets him because he's jealous of the boys who did charm the Hollywood pederasts. Wil Wheaton loves to play the victim but standard liberal entitlement isn't enough for him. He wants to be the type of victim that decides to take some life-ruining trauma (like being taken advantage of as a minor) to the public.

Why'd you have to remind me?

I'd have wanted that Q-Squared book made into a movie (I believe it was written by Peter David). The one that connects the Squire of Gothos from TOS with the Q-Continuum. That book had some good shit in it, even had the whole multiverse thing going on that people are into nowadays (oh, and Jack Crusher is alive and Wesley is dead...).

That was the second episode. I don't know how anyone kept watching. Perhaps TNG is the only time where the soy retards who watch anything with the same name kept the ratings up and then it did eventually get good. Unfortunately it means that every time someone shits out a new Star Trek people keep saying "Keep watching, it'll get good eventually."
also because the original series had attracted a large international audience, particularly in Turkey for some reason
the popularity there was such that Turist Ömer (a one-time minor character in a 1963 film, who became so popular he starred in a whole series of films in the 60s and early 70s, much like Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther films) got a film where he somehow ends up in the Star Trek universe (Turist Ömer Uzay Yolunda, "Ömer The Tourist In Star Trek")
although it's completely unofficial and shows total disregard for copyright, it was the first ever Star Trek film, released in 1973
unfortunately, unless you can find a translated version, the humour is largely verbal and will be lost on non-speakers

Jack Crusher also commits suicide after watching Picard fuck the absolute tits off of Dr. Crusher in one of the alternate universes.

You are correct about the title and author sir. Excellent tastes!

Thanks. I thought that book was quite clever about the history of Trek and even brought the "fun" element of Q, which was always what so great about Q.

I try not to jump all over Voyager, because damn it, Kate Mulgrew had a beast of a time trying to get a handle on Janeway as a character, but there was one episode that involved a Q that wanted to die, and I had mixed feelings about it. Basically, it was interesting to broach the topic of wanting to die when you're effectively immortal, but it's a bummer of an episode for a group of characters that would bring the fun to an otherwise serious show.

It's like how Sisko punched Q, and he whined about Picard never doing that, and Sisko says, "I'm not Picard." That's fun. It makes you smile at what Q brings out in the characters.

Anyway, I've derailed the thread for long enough.

It is funny to think that with the revelation that Sisko is part wormhole alien (i mean "prophet") that Q actually felt Sisko's punch and realized he wasn't dealing with a mere mortal and is like, "ok I'm staying out of this."

EDIT: To stay on topic, I did appreciate the joke at Wil's expense in the opening ten seconds of this video.
