Which movie sequels are better than the originals?

A lot of people are going to say Aliens, but i honestly prefer Alien just because that movie was what turned me into a Cinephile. Though my other candidates are The Godfather 2, Home Alone 2, Terminator 2, Temple of Doom (controversial one i know) and cant forget my daily dose of sperging about how of a masterpiece Godzilla vs Biollante is.

Is it really? Never watched old star wars, yeah i know, big sin, but im priotizing to do that now. I only watch movies on dvds nowadays, especially if they are important movies that are nice to have on a collection.

empire is the best star wars, so of course that goes on the list.

ace ventura : when nature calls. it is better in every way (except for no tranny jokes)

star trek II wrath of khan. i know the motion picture is more "Star trek" but that movie gets ruined by poor editing and what i think is some poor acting as well. (deforest kelly in particular acts like he really doesnt want to be there, but he isnt the only one)

terminator 2 is only slightly better than the first. if the liquid terminator wasnt so damn iconic i think it would be a tie.

and i agree, alien is better than aliens, though aliens is still kino.

if you are counting number 3 as a sequel, then i prefer last crusade over the other two.

The raid 2, first ones a lot tighter and more suspenseful but everything else is better in 2, plus it has car kung fu.
The big go to is road warrior but mad max 1 has lot of emotional punch the seconds lacks, the scene with his family is genuinely upsetting and the revenge super cathartic

I always viewed Back to the future 2 as the strongest one in the trilogy, mostly because this movie has to simultaneously pick up right at the ending of the first film, while also hyping you up for the trilogy's finale.
