Which movie sequels are better than the originals?

I'm not sure if better per se because it's badly shot, cheap looking pile of retardation but Crank 2 is definitely more memorable and entertaining than the first one.

Avengers ultron something

It is almost the same fucking film as the first one with a little change here abd there with a little bit more of meat to chew in.

One of my more controversial takes is that Hellraiser II is better than I. Its close, and I love them both. Also, yes all the other Hellraiser films are still terrible (though III is funny-bad and enjoyable especially for that disc-player cenobite). II just has the perfect visual MC Escher setting, and the guy version of Dr. Sneed Gallagher.

I think the second Ghost in the Shell film is superior to the first as well, even though I like the post y2k animation style so much less.

I actually disagree with the common wisdom that Terminator II is better than 1. They are both great, but people are more likely to re-watch 2. If you havent re-watched 1 in a while do so. Its pacing and tone is fucking perfect. And if anything the ageing on those stop motion effects makes them look more horrifying today.

Gotta agree with the conventional wisdom on Wrath of Khan and Empire Strikes Back, of course.

While Prey did not surpass the original Predator it did far surpass any other Predator film between them.

And while Robocop 2 is clearly a lesser film than 1, I do think it is criminally underrated and a positive addition to the canon (unlike 3 lol).

Temple of Doom
Fuck off, last crusade is better than temple of doom. And no its not cause Im pajeet, its a good movie, one which I had to watch through piracy as its banned in the country. But last crusade is so much better, better than raiders also.

Most of my picks were already mentioned so Im gonna go with
John Wick 3, I havent seen 4 but 3 is kino
Aliens, Im surprised it hasnt been mentioned
Aladdin 3, I know the og is a better movie but I loved watching 3 as a child, havent watched it in a while though

Its tough to pick to be honest cause I stopped watching western movies a while ago, Im only watching stuff from korea japan italy and germany now. Its been a while since I watched a good movie from the endless american library of shit. Who knows maybe Ill regain interest.

The second film in Planet of the Apes reboot, Dawn, is better than Rise and slightly better than War in my opinion. While War is an excellent, and heartbreaking, conclusion to Caesar's story, it didn't focus so much on the titular war between apes and humans that started at the conclusion of Dawn.

Fury Road is the goat of the mad max franchise.
I will say this the absolute best part of this franchise is each one has a different style and tone

*1 being 70s car and biker culture clashing with the collapse of society
* road warrior being the start of the true collapse and how we would fight for scraps
* thunderdome being the new society and how people rebuild the world
*fury road an odyssey in a grandiose theatrical style and color

Fuck off, last crusade is better than temple of doom.
Idk I think there’s an argument for both being best. The problem is you’re rating the hight if cinema so it’s hard to pick favorites

The biggest reason I’d pick temple is because that opening sequence. I absolutely love the Chinese gangsters and the stunts that alone made the film great.
I also love that it’s the grittiest of the franchise.

I also love last crusade it had a good story and did a phenomenal job of creating a book end to a great series and really captures that old serial vibe. Sean connery was great in the film too.

  • Lethal Weapon 2
  • Expendables 2
  • Back to the Future Part 2
  • Toy Story 2
  • Star Trek: First Contact
I'll add Goldmember to the list even though it's a threequel.

I think it's the best movie Troma ever made myself, but I'm also a massive retard.
