This doesn't match with how men watch pornography. We look for stuff we know we're already into, and incrementally, might get more interested in a certain aspect of the porn that is it's own fetish. Nobody thinks, this isn't getting me off, let me look up choking porn, for example. You might see a bit of choking in a 'vanilla' video, find it arouses you, and start looking for that specifically.
The current belief is that fetishes and extreme sexual tastes are formed from childhood as a coping mechanism from various traumas (hence why people with certain upbringing events have certain fetish or sexual stereotypes). This means a given adult has a limited number of fetishes they can discover they're into if they watch a range of 'vanilla' pornography.
Also, if straight people can be overloaded into watching gay porn and becoming gay, then logically it should work the other way, but it doesn't. When did you hear of a gay man become so porn addicted he turned straight?
