the reason why the art/proportions are always perpetually fucked is because the artist definitely uses art references/dolls/body-kun or etc. and take a pic and trace over it.

for example:

in video form, famous mangaka Kentaro Yabuki (To-Love-Ru, Akayashiki Triangle, Black Cat) shows how to use body kun/body chans.

So, why is the artist already using a reference material still having fucked up proportions? simple, because simple tracing over the photo fucks up the artist's sense of foreshortening/perspective. the artist is probably trying to compensate but probably has surface level understanding of drawing, so he/she drawing it wrong. if not, then the artist is just simply bad and I actually advise the artist to get some body kun/body chan. lol

also it seems that the reference material that the artist is using is probably cheap and lacking in stomach/abs/rib articulation.

It doesn't have to deal with serious themes or difficult conflicts, given that it is supposed to be mostly a joke - again Vito and Dick maintain this air of permanent irreverence around themselves. Thing is, it's not even really a story, it's a bunch of cardboard characters with varying levels of self-projection dicking around in a sandbox universe with no rules, like a group comedy improv - it feels like the characters are literally improvising their dialogue in the story. Half the set-ups and what passes for world building are contrived to make weak humorous gags and situations often with no follow through or punch line. The tone changes from serious to farcical to absurdist give you whiplash. It's the comic book equivalent of Dirty Grandpa.

From what I've been hearing about ISOM, it has it's problems, but it feels like it at least had a strong vision, and a guy behind it who knew what he wanted. Superkiller feels like Vito was court ordered to make a funny comic book.

Juju and his simps were sifting through 3D asset websites and found that ISOM comics had a traced car and a couple traced coffee tables (background objects) in it.
They made a huge scene out of this.

Everyone knows if you want to draw a coffee table, you should make one from wood first so it's original, duh!

It is funny how Vito is throwing such a shit fit over Eric using assets when Vito's precious manga uses assets all the time for their products. Same for manwa. Quentin Tarantino opined recently "That you can't parody something that you don't have affection for." And he's damn right.

Rick & Morty however shitty it became after the second season is a good example. R&M is crude and juvenile, but the creators still had a great affection for "Back To The Future" and replicated center conflict that makes Back to the Future. Grappling with your mediocre dysfunctional family and somehow fixing it or putting it to your advantage.

If I were in Vedo's shoes (THANK GOD I'M NOT!!) here's how I would do a shitposty parody lampooning the current environment of comics.

The old Superheroes are all dead or retired. A new upstart corporation (aka Indie Comics like Rippaverse or Comicsgate or whatever) make a new generation of heroes. Here's the problem, the new superheroes have critical flaws and are scandalous. Like in our first issue we have a Batman type character, problem is his martial arts leave devastating permanent injuries upon his victims. The whole city is mad at him because he gave a Riddler-standin permanent brain damage after a brutal beatdown. Enter in our new protagonist THE FIXER, this veteran hero goes from place to place helping the new Superheroes be the best they can be. He teaches Nu-Batman how to knock out people without lasting physical trauma. He then goes and meet the Nu-Aquaman and find out the guy is fucking fish and has to stop this scandal from leaking out to the media. He then finds the Nu-Flash discovering it's basically a standin for Ezra Miller and The Fixer needs to just fucking kill him. Every story in THE FIXER will just be stupid self aware sitcom formula like that.

Is this the next billion dollar media franchise? Hell no, but it's a lot better than Superkiller. And I spent 5 minutes writing that paragraph. Go ahead Vedo and Dax take my concept and run with it. I'll laugh when you fuck it up.
