I have nearly enough super credits to afford the premium battle pass, and I haven't even been looking for em, so it's not nearly as bad as it seems."war bonds" system.

Tried running it for a few missions and it seemed like complete trash based on the fact you drop it if you get ragdolledIt pairs well with both smgs, but its only useful against the robots since the bugs don't use guns. You can take a direct rocket, or tank shell and survive.
Yeah, the balance of weapons and stratagems definitely needs work. There's really not much point to the riot shield which takes up your back slot and drops if you get ragdolled, compared to the recharging personal shield, which prevents you from getting ragdolled, oneshot, or flinched on hit, and doesn't limit your weapon chocies, and also doesn't drop unless you die.Tried running it for a few missions and it seemed like complete trash based on the fact you drop it if you get ragdolled
I'm going to hope that, if Arrowhead does decide to fuck with the balancing, they do it by making the other choices stronger rather than nerfing the good stuff into the dirt.Yeah, the balance of weapons and stratagems definitely needs work. A lot of the really cool and fun shit like the big orbital barrages, flamethrower, the shoulder mounted laser cannon are genuinely awful or self-sabotaging, while the good stuff is incredibly boring like the railgun, personal shield, orbital railgun, half the sentries, etc.. Don't get me started on the gun balance where the breaker is so much better than anything else it's not even funny, but at least the breaker is very satisfying to use.
Well, after the first game just used straight DLC, going to the same kind of cash shop that most godawful modern AAA games use to squeeze extra money out of the player feels... not full-on predatory like Diablo Immortal or gachashit, but it comes off as a little scummy, like a used car salesman. Like, sure, for now there's no FOMO bullshit and you can bypass paying any extra cash if you don't want to, but most of the pieces of fleecing the customer vis-a-vis annoying the dogshit out of them to make ponying up the cash a preferable option are in the game.I really don’t get complaining about cash options, especially when they’re completely circumventable. This one appears to be there for the people who think they will not have time to get cool stuff, and if you’re playing the game you earn it all naturally.
i have 3.9 hours on record, over an hour of that is sitting in lobbies or having the game not work because of servers or my processor being too weak to effectively run the game. roughly 2.5 hours i would say is actually in game playing. i was able to scrounge together 225 credits to purchase an armor that makes me look like white cobra commander. in total i think i have 75 credits left over (i bought 200 from the free battle pass). 75 credits in 2.5 hours just from gameplay and more credits from the battle pass means you will have access to the premium content easily if you are playing the game.Well, after the first game just used straight DLC, going to the same kind of cash shop that most godawful modern AAA games use to squeeze extra money out of the player feels... not full-on predatory like Diablo Immortal or gachashit, but it comes off as a little scummy, like a used car salesman. At least, that's my hot take on it.
It'll be like a self-report honestly. Making the co-op actively unplayable for them, specially with homies, cause they don't have any actual friends, so they'll leech off on you.If you’re wondering, Pilestedt is the Arrowhead CEO and Helldivers 2’s Creative Director.

Oh, it's absolutely just there as a "Ain't Got Time" measure, and I'm happy that there's in-game ways of getting the premium currency with no outlandish extra steps. But as far as why some people would be wary or consider it no different from the usual pay-to-win schemes? It's a trust issue; with how common awful microtransaction schemes have gotten, I'm betting a lot of the people complaining are expecting a rug pull sooner or later. Hell, even I'm expecting it somewhere in the back of my head.i have 3.9 hours on record, over an hour of that is sitting in lobbies or having the game not work because of servers or my processor being too weak to effectively run the game. roughly 2.5 hours i would say is actually in game playing. i was able to scrounge together 225 credits to purchase an armor that makes me look like white cobra commander. in total i think i have 75 credits left over (i bought 200 from the free battle pass). 75 credits in 2.5 hours just from gameplay and more credits from the battle pass means you will have access to the premium content easily if you are playing the game.
The only reason to buy credits is if you do not think you will have time to play the game and want to get fun stuff quicker. If you are against microtransactions you just... play the game.
Just because something is in the game doesn't mean you have to use or purchase it. It's basically an accessibility option for people who have money and don't have time.
Read the thread maybe? What do people who actually played the game here think about it?
I did, and I am seeing mixed results. Looking for a TL;DR on the game in a nutshell.Read the thread maybe?
This game is pretty based, nothing in it is DEI and it's written like WWII American propaganda. Everyone is saying that it's pretty easy to grind for the currency needed to buy premium stuff, and they aren't necessary to have fun.I heard this game is actually getting popular. How bad is the wokeness and pay-to-win in this one
Is it actually based or is it tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic based? Because I get the latter. Just like its source material, the Starship Troopers movie (intentional mangling of the book). This game is pretty based, nothing in it is DEI and it's written like WWII American propaganda. Its tongue-in cheek sarcastic based but makes the game, armor, and weapons so cool its fails at being satire and just turns the whole thing pro fascism. it's so over the top fascists that it's hilarious. it's core setting is a fascist government that calls anyone who disagrees with it fascist, and it's willing to use it's people as disposable cannon fodder while making them feel like the most important people in the worlds. Is it actually based or is it tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic based? telling shitters and lowlvls they're shit, even if it's just numerical, is considered toxic in current year. And I've gotten kicked because I suggest it'd be better to do the main objective then boogie, especially since they're woefully unprepared for facing three chargers at once.
Am I the only one that keeps getting put on Hard and above missions with level 3 players?
How does that even happen? They don't have good strategems and barely know how to play.
Cant speak to the wokeness, i've seen zero signs of it thus far but im not actively looking for it, but the microtransactions are actually pretty tame. You can grind for enough of the premium currency to unlock the """premium battlepass""" within 2 or 3 days. There is a rotational premium store where armor can be bought for this premium currency (again, can be easily grinded) and the armor does give certain buffs, nothing too pay-to-win (the super citizen dlc (aka the deluxe edition) gives you an armor set that gives a 50% chance to survive one shots, but you can also unlock armor with this buff at page 4 or 5 of the free battlepass, which is only like a weeks worth of grinding at worst.)I heard this game is actually getting popular. How bad is the wokeness and pay-to-win in this one? Something tells me it's your typical flavor of the month and only artificially more popular at the moment. Just like people washed away the taste of MWIII with Lethal Company, Helldivers II might be doing the trick with Suicide Squad, but I guess we will see.
