The same thought crossed my mind. From the way August carries himself, you can tell he's not really a good person. August is somehow even more insufferable than Jack in this way, although they parallel one another in the way they treat others. Jack is so stupid though, he can't really hide it. August on the other hand? He is vile, and he is capable of masking it to some extent (his narcissism gets in the way of that, though).
