Imma write an essay here trying to explain Hasan's entire existence from a purely outsider's perspective. This isn't trying to defend him, if anything I want to prove how using his own worldview crumbles while using his own logic.
Hasan's social grind
The social media grind is real and all it takes for your creative outlet to lose all profitability is for a bot to identify something potentially wrong in your work. I've seen it happen and it isn't going anywhere. That's why you see a lot of content cows bitching about the algorithm, there's a somewhat real need to keep uploading if you want your Internet presence to grow. The Internet has imploded in itself due to centralization and now there are real creator economies based upon niches. Hasan expresses a somewhat reasonable fear he doesn't need to have because by all metrics he doesn't play by the same rule book. As mentioned by some posters already, he made it economic wise and he could just quit if he wanted to. The only reason Hasan has for streaming several hours a day daily must be because he wants to. He already made it almost impossible to view or exist on Twitch without having to interact with him or his cohorts and the most powerful creator group involves him and said cohorts. He has no visible need to keep his current grind, which ironically leads to the theory that he does it because of the already obvious joke that he encompasses two common sins of capitalism:
1. Pride. He can't allow anyone else to outstage him and potentially take his crown as the face of news coverage on Twitch, thus allow competition within his niche.
2. Greed. Since people already believe that his 2.7 million mansion costed 5 million among a plethora of lavish expenses he might as well embrace the very obvious fact that he doesn't just engage in capitalism but rather enjoys it excess.
There's also the twist that perhaps he has taken the social media grind as penance for he isn't as retarded as he looks, he is well aware of the unfair advantages he has and chooses to 'work' so much in order to aid the illusion he has so much money because of his work ethic. Quantity doesn't equate quality as his streams are filled with dead air, long tangents about nothing, half lies, full lies and most of the time it seems his chair is more deserving of being a partner. There's also the more believable similar theory that his community acts as a dark reflection of himself and makes him feel self-conscious about his place in the world, perhaps acting alongside other theories in this essay.
Hasan's social burnout
Hasan's burnout and disillusion with streaming is very obviously a by-product of losing control of his image. While at the beginning his image had largely been curated by journos and sycophants, making fun of him for his obvious faults has become the mainstream narrative outside of his own community. Time passes and he's trapped doing the same thing he has been doing for several years, his peak audience is a distant memory and whereas his only value to other partizan is his carefully crafted appearance. Is very likely his social abilities have also deteriorated due to being terminally online, specially compared to the TYT days as he is less and less able to just say stupid shit like teaching people how to cope a feel without being measured by the same standards he claims to have.
Hasan's impact
Hasan could use his obvious economic and social acumen to practice what he preaches and make video sharing and streaming platforms better for creators. But any talk about such measures that doesn't involve unionizing is deemed a 'right-wing dogwhistle' and if it includes unionizing it goes nowhere. His impact in both his community and the world at large exists with a massive asterisk next to it, just as his credentials as a socialist. His fanbase no longer claims he donated money to charity but rather raised it and even that now has the massive stain that the organization responsible for handling the funds took a significant cut. The only defence they could play is that Hasan wasn't the only one that got swindled, but again, Hasan doesn't play by the same rules as the rest of his fellow streamers. Or millionaires since assuming Hasan actually donates to charity he also donates as little as Bezos or Musk do respectively. I bet anyone here or otherwise critical of Hasan could dig a list of issues with his so called 'ethical' merch store but I'll save discussion about the 'complex' for the last section.
A lot of his fans like to draw the connection that earnings go at least in part ot supporting Ukraine, but how exactly? And is it really in a way that couldn't possibly be further dissected to say that he isn't profiteering? How about that interview he did with the 'Hot Houthi'? Can we reasonably say that Hasan isn't just an average American barging on a conflict he has very little involvement on, forging a narrative for his even more deluded fanbase? What about when he started to claim One Piece was the most political anime ever? Was it before or after he had the showrunner for the Netflix adaptation on stream? How about how he uses ads when he doesn't feel like ellaborating a point? Hasan's impact on the world teeters between being a cynical marketer and a useful idiot for narratives he only half understands.
Hasan's socialism
The Hasanheads, or whatever name they use/is used to refer to them, are a collective of people that stands as a reflection to Hasan and as such they seem to have a very basic understanding of the world. Here I want to tackle the 'complex' first and then try to explain my understanding of their collective worldview.
The 'complex' refers to the community of jannies, clippers and professional defenders who will meme 'socialism is when no house' until you move on and go plow your wife. These individuals rarely if ever receive any compensation and do what they do on the hopes that by mere attachment to the Hasan brand they can spawn their own careers. Like good partizans, their purpose is to be the highly replaceable idiots that expand the brand's reach either by making it more accesible to outsiders or by infecting other like-minded communities. The Hasan fanbase is effectively a pyramid scheme where anyone can enter and maybe you can get earnings as long as you split them with your comisar.
So with that we finally jump to the final point, what's socialism for these idiots? The easy answer is that socialism is everything they want and as practiced and preached by those they like. The long answer is that the 'complex' is supposed to exist as an example of a socialist structure and Hasan under this logic isn't a hypocrite because socialism in practice isn't really a redistribution of wealth nearly as much ensuring all jobs are 'voluntary', every product has a decal that says 'rainforest alliance, no child labour, queer owned' and a Huey Long approach to taxing the rich. Socialism to your terminally online zoomie or alpha isn't really economical, is social. They don't want big companies to go away or for economic structure to really change because they can't imagine a world that works any differently than our own and deep down know it isn't possible so depression and anxiety become excuses to not get anything done. Socialism isn't class struggle from a bourgie perspective, is being able to do what you want and get money for it hence why 'content creators' are such a draw. The tagline that creators are the new working class isn't ironic to these people and much like socialism it only works at the beginning when you have some capital to work with. The socialism Hasan preaches means that it doesn't matter his only input for monetizing someone else's work as his own is keeping his chair on frame because Hasan's platform can draw eyes to your work and ensure rich NEETs expand their worldview by association. Wheter you want it or not you can be part of the 'complex' and thus 'prove' socialism works, the lavish lifestyle is just proof of how good he is at selling it. Selling yourself to DNC corpo candidates is just the long way victory to ensuring socialism wins in the end. Socialism is when capitalism but good.
