Two small updates:

1) Looks like Fur the More just deleted Lumin's inflatable panel outright without saying anything. I looked at the event's online schedule and there's no mention of it, and Lumin is no longer listed as someone running any panels. No idea if he's banned from the actual convention or not.

2) I gave the OP a big revamp. If you've already read it, the main difference is that I started with the first part of the stalking incident before delving into his YouTube. After the YT stuff, we transitioned into the second part of the stalking incident a year later (thanks for the suggestion, @Chongqing, I think it helped the overall flow a lot). I also added a new section for everything that happened between December 2023 (when I first made the OP) and now. Mark Merlino, AKA Sy Sable best known for founding the Furry Fandom has recently passed away today at 5 AM aged 71 after fighting Stage IV liver cancer since February 9th.

He’s one of the Furry Fandom’s founding members, describing himself as the “Father of the Furry Fandom”. In 1971 at a science fiction convention, he met attendees with an interest in Anthropomorphic animals. In 1977, he along with others founded the Cartoon/Fantasy Organization for discussing and enjoying Japanese Animation, which still runs today. In 1985, he ran the first Furry room parties at various science fiction conventions. He along with Rod O’Riley founded Confurence in 1989, the first Furry convention as director until stepping down in 1999. He was the Guest of Honor at Eurofurence in 2001 and Morphicon (now AnthroOhio) in 2004.

According to the GoFundMe Fundraiser posted on February 7th, on December 23rd, 2023, Merlino “was rushed to the emergency room after suffering three micro strokes.” He was released the next day, but saw “repeated hospital visits”. On January 2nd, “a severe brain bleed led to his admission to the [Intensive Care Unit].” He moved out of the ICU “but faced continuous challenges, including a fall at a rehab center.” They asked for $35,000, with the overwhelming support of 721 people donating $42,690 on February 10th. At the time of writing, nearly one thousand donated around $58,000.

Mark Merlino has had an immeasurable impact on founding the Furry fandom and shaping it into what it is today. He along with Dogbomb are shining examples of what the fandom stands for, and while they are no longer with us, their legacies will live on.

Lumin's write-up feels very generic, like he took someone else's summary and re-worded it just enough so that the source wasn't immediately obvious. More importantly, this is the first post that Lumin has made since he was made into a huge laughingstock over his actions at the convention. I guess we can only wait to see if he'll address that at any point.

While Lumin was off the internet, he wrote a giant self-masturbatory article about himself on WikiFur. I am not exaggerating when I say this might be one of the most narcissistic things I have ever read, and might possibly beat out Fatrick and Daniel Larson's delusions of grandeur.

I had the patience to sit down and read this entire thing. Here are the main takeaways I got from reading it:
-Lumin states his first furmeet was in May 2021. The earliest posts I could find about Lumin being a nuisance were in the summer of 2021, giving me the impression he was ALWAYS an annoying presense at events since the very beginning.
-He states the reason he joined wikifur was because of Mark Merlino's recent death... despite registering his account back in 2022. No, I'm not sure how that makes sense, either.
-He immediatally makes Mark's death about himself, stating that him dying is encouraging him to make more content.
-He makes a mini-writeup about how Mark is super important to him, yet starts it with "Despite having never personally met Merlino," then goes on to talk about an unrelated older furry he met at a meet, saying he'll probably die soon because he's old and it's totally the same thing as Mark dying.
-For reasons I can't comprehend, he spends 60% of the article quoting a MatPat video where he talked about a friend who commited suicide. He doesn't relate this to anything else so I have no clue why it's even included in the first place.
-He ends it by saying he hope his legacy will be as notable as Merlino. Personally? I think it'll be notable, just not in the way he's hoping.
-At no point does he attempt to address his massive ban list for being an annoying nuisance.


While we're at it, Lumin also has a surprisingly large talk page on wikifur. Most of the posts are other users telling him to stop vandalizing and inserting rants into articles on people he hates, so I guess we'll see how long Lumin lasts on the site before he gets banned.

I for one can't belive that Wikifur would allow public masturbation on their platform.

This article only works if people have never ever been introduced to anything Lumin, and even on the off chance that some poor fur stumbles across this as their first introduction to Lumin, there's a few hundred results that'll knock down this work of fiction rather quickly.

What an odd gambit, but to be expected from someone so far removed from reality.

Between Lumin vandalizing of several pages on Wikifur, Lumin's usage of first-person pronouns and general contradictory on his own page alone, and his recent infamy online, it'd be a miracle if this article even ends up on the main site instead of getting Lumin banned from the site entirely.

Many furry conventions don't want non-suiter/community attendees filming the event, or even allow media crews on premises, due to that one episode of CSI as well as the ConFurence debacle where the news media captured their "Pet Auction" in full for a story back in 1997 or so.
