That seems to be the emerging meta - it took a while, but I’ve seen an increasing number of them narrow down their oppression to genital discrimination because nobody is buying the ‘because I said so’ line, which of course, is going to cause no end of confusion.

It’s complicated, but it’s mostly semantic manipulation. Part of the problem is “queer” means so little now that the activists invoke “LGBT” only due to brand recognition. I do get the feeling that most people of all political persuasions discreetly understand that the LGB is barely part of the movement anymore.
