Ody started grinding out webtoons until Dark Horse picked him up for a publishing contract, now his work is being distributed in comic shops and bookstores across North America. The second 256 page volume is set to hit shelves next month, placing his output since 2020 at somewhere around ~800 pages of work. Mostly about things that interest Ody, which are giant Silent Hill monster vs chicks with giant asses (greek confirmed).

still don't get why tracing is a bad. Rob Leifeld does it, Alex Ross does it, multiple artists does it. even my favorite hentai artist shimimaru does it, even Kentaro Yabuki endorses to use the body chan Yabuki version for reference/tracing.

There are a few things to bring up here, but honestly the TLDR is just "Art Fags Faggoted all over the Faggy place". The 3D asset "tracing" became a talking point that people could use to signal what side of the conflict they were on.

The truth, as I see it, is that 3D assets are a tool, like a hammer. Overusing a tool, or using it when it's not appropriate, is what leads to an inferior product.

As an example: If you use a 3D asset of of couch in a background of a panel, who gives a fuck? Nobody should, but faggy artists sometimes do because of "muh artist purity".

However, if you use that same 3D asset in a different panel, and set a 3D figure on top of that couch without reworking the art properly, it'll look like shit. The cushions need to be redrawn to show the person sinking into them, and the person needs to be reworked to show all the little ways a body changes when not standing. If this isn't done you end up with a stiff looking character floating over what end up looking like a cement couch.

Now, to end on a sperg-out. None of this is "tracing". Nothing in Isom was "traced". This is 3D assets being used in image editing software, with filters applied, and colors modified, to create pictures in the "comic style". This doesn't really matter, I'm just engaging in a little recreational pedantry.

Are you the arbiter if the comics has "soul" or "energy" in comics? how do you quantify life and energy in comic art? what happens if the characters are drawn and the backgrounds are digital backgrounds, is it 75% life? what happens if characters are traced, is it 1% life? what happens if the art is shitty but not traced, is it 50% life because at that point he should have used reference. what happens if everything is traced, is it no life? also post proofs of the 3d models ISOM used being traced here, if you don't you're just pontificating baseless accusations.

When most humans look at a piece of art they react to it in some sort of way or they don't. Bad art gets no reaction. That's not me saying that because I think I'm some kind of expert, it's the way people react to everything in life. The reason Liefeld was so popular was because of the energy he gave his comics. There are tons of artists who can draw better but they don't evoke any emotion in the viewer. Hate evs all you want but he was a top tier artist in his day.

Appears he has been successful as well, based on his social blade:

5.5 million views in 30 days is big numbers. Late January is when he started taking off it appears. If you go to his earliest uploaded videos on his channel, only the political stuff remains. Below image is the earliest viewable videos on his channel.

You can see he has been changing things on the thumbnail to try and hit algorithm gold. You can see how inconsistent it is, with the Adam Schiff video at 200k views, then a day or so later his video has under 1k views.

Funny thing is I would never have known this web site existed if it wasn't for Rackets, and EVS And Metokur. He is right about that, it ends up looking lame.
EVS shouldn't care; he should improve on his anatomy instead of criticizing artists worse than himself.
But I think EVS will never improve from the point he is at right now because the real reason he cut ties with Doug is the fact that Doug is a way better artist than EVS and that made him seethe.

In Juju's case, the speculation is that he's trying to goad July into a huge fight (and possibly lawsuit) so that he can make him Maddox 2.0. That's the chief belief among those that are familiar with Juju, and follow him closely. EVS is just taking advantage of that.

Anyways, I don't really have a whole lot to say about this anymore than what I already said a number of times.
