4chan literally dying

Anything but malicious ads.
Those are out of the question and the last thing anyone would want.
The only thing bad coming out of 4chan dying at this point is the fact that for a while, /pol/ and /b/ will escape containment, and will fag everything up for a few weeks.
If 4chan truly does die, I will miss /v/.

I have never found a place other than there where even the tiniest of games can generate and regenerate discussion. I don't want to see that go.

Even if 4chan dies, there's 8chan's /v/. Or 2chan if you can Japanese.

If /pol/ and /soc/ were removed, 4chan (and me) would only have to deal with the fallout for a little while. I've seen boards get deleted before and the users spam in outrage but eventually leave. /pol/ is the reason 4chan keeps showing up in the media, and I've been praying for it to be deleted for a long time. I honestly believe posting quality would improve if /pol/ was deleted. I'm sure many of the /pol/ users don't go to any other boards, and if they do, it's to shitpost their stale memes.

I got banned from 4chan twice so fuck them.
lol bans never work

:optimistic:

/pol/ was formed from the refugees of proto-/pol/, /news/. When Moot deleted that board, they SHITPOSTED EVERYWHERE.

/pol/ was meant as a containment board, but it just became a breeding ground. It worked for /mlp/ because you can clearly tell when someone's posting about ponies where they shouldn't, but /pol/ is a bit more insidious than that.

I have to assume Moonspeak Moot means animated/sound/video ads and not ads that are literally a vector for malware. Then again, I also have to assume that 4chan probably has one of the highest rates of usage for ad blocker extensions of any major site so it sounds like a shitty plan either way.

Wasn't that the 4th of July raid? Where Tumblrettes came en masse to 4chan to shitpost fake rape stories and to somehow confront 4chan with the terrible truths of oppression and shit, trying to shit up the place with 4chan trolls flooding all top hashtags on tumblr with porn, gore and so on for days?

They didn't get the idea that shitposting on 4chan to try to disrupt it is like pissing in a sea of piss.

gookmoot was putting up malicious ads less than a week after taking over. This caused much of the user base to turn on adblocking for the first time, and those people probably never turned it off.

Oh shit, 10 years have passed.

Our good friend Brianna Wu put an article up about this on some no name news site called Bustle

Too bad for them 8chan is still around. Oh, and that site with all the New Zealand farmers...

This assumes of course that people just don't create another 4chan-like site.
