I disagree. Saying somebody raped children might seem plausible to an individual who knows nothing about the person being discussed. Child sexual assault is a thing that happens all too often. Unfortunately. A person (namely a careless person) could uncritically accept and run with what Nick is saying here. Indeed, Nick's LOCALS has. I've seen it in the logs.

In contrast, spunking into cheese wheels is so outlandish, I believe most people would receive that claim as a joke.

Not quite. Montagraph never had any serious intention to sue Metokur or even Nick at that time. They had a good conversation, but mostly because Montagraph had already decided on his own that he wasn't going to take legal action, and Null was respectful to Montagraph and seemed glad that people he cared about weren't in any real trouble (called Nick a friend).

There's an old MATI stream where @Null contacted Montagraph under the false pretense of purchasing Montagraph's movie to break the ice and talk about Metokur (and even Nick). Montagraph did a search on Josh within the first five minutes and was still very forthcoming, even after learning that Null was recording the conversation (though Null neglected to mention that he was also broadcasting it live). Interesting stuff and worth a listen for people who want to know more about Montagraph, his website and content (originally a comedy site), real birth name, and other Montagraph lore as told by Montagraph.

Montagraph didn't have any serious intention to sue Metokur or Nick back in the day, and whatever was happening was just largely just trolling. Montagraph says he is a "big free speech guy" because, while there was trolling, he wasn't being accused of anything to sue over (but is anyone did he absolutely would). Montagraph even sympathizes with Metokur later when Null brings up that Metokur had someone go after him (Sargon) for making fun of his suit (Monty had gone through a similar thing). Reviewing that clip on the previous page, Nick did in fact say the word "probably", except it was for a different claim after the claim he was being sued for.

Part of defamation is that it can also be met through "reckless disregard for the truth", and claiming someone is a pedophile based off of second-hand information which you didn't even bother to verify with the justification of "This guy's a weirdo and it sounds funny, and someone else said it" sounds like textbook negligence at best and malicious at worst. What I did not think I would find is that he used another Youtubers video and screenshot at the right moment.
