I suppose you could Technicality Tomlinson it and say it wasn't a literal unit called SWAT but I think any armed and aggressive police response qualifies under the usually accepted meaning of the word. There was at least one actual swatting. The rest have just not been, though. Pat is a lying liar who lies.
The main thing putting me mostly fairly on the pigs (cops) ((sad I have to specify)) is that if there had actually been some long untoward happening, fats would have wildly publicized and sued and complained long before.

You don't really have to feel bad about siding with pigs. Like almost all things, it's just a job and the people doing it are just normal humans. They are mostly not some kind of weird inhuman monster, just people like you and me with a shitty job.

The comment I was responding to is one of legal liability, not general duty. I think it's important to remind people: If the police don't keep you safe, the courts don't let you sue the cops, even if the judge might say she feels really bad about it (like the stabbing case). Plenty of caselaw behind it.
A lot of this stuff (especially #1) is stuff for the trial to suss out and I'm looking forward to it because I can't imagine it would be easy to get away with perjuring one's self with all the witnesses and cameras.
Yes Pat, because acting unhinged on the internet is going to make the police go soft on you. If they took 5 min on the internet looking you up they'd probably baker act your ass.
You don't need a warrant if you have probable cause. The call they got before showing up plus the occupant of the house chimping out at them as soon as they showed up is probably enough for probable cause. There is also the chance that he fatly and stupidly consented to them searching the home, which again means a warrant is unnecessary but you can still claim they searched "without a warrant."
