The lack of long form challenges and the darker and more violent tone kinda ruin a lot of the memorability of the season

as Betty, (our very own princess ariel) has said, the vibes of season 2 were off. it was a lot more mean and aggressive. It was like something out of a movie when Mr.Beast showed up and they just went after him until he cried, like if it was a horror film, that would be the intro and they'd have dragged him to some other room thereafter and the movie would be about his acquittances who are investigating what happened to him after he "vanished"

I find it interesting that when people bring up the bad vibes of season 2 they rarely mention the role the boxing matches played in introducing regular violence into the tank. TJ getting the shit kicked out of him by Sam, TJ getting the shit kicked out of him by an extremely overly aggressive Ben and Jimmy kicking him in the nuts and dirty fighting him before his ejection. I loved the boxing matches but it 100% changed the feel of the tank into a more sinister one. The final boxing match where Shinji looked like he had a concussion was also very dark.

Jon getting accidentally kicked in the face during season 1 was goofy and hilarious. Shinji looking like he was dying during his fight with TJ was dark.

Everything about the beef bell/doghouse needs a total rewrite, if it even comes back, which I think it should not.

Why? I'll tell you:
Letty takes Jon's baby and shakes it. Jon rings the bell and Letty makes fewer pancakes than him in 15 minutes and has to spend the rest of the day in the doghouse.

Damiel thinks Letty has taken his shoes. He rings the bell and she manages to improvise a better rap than him so he spends the rest of the day in the doghouse.

Letty wants Sylvia to give her one of the study guides. She rings the bell on Sylvia and Sylvia beats her at boxing so she spends the rest of the day in the doghouse.

At best the doghouse is a crutch to help passive, cowardly fish participate in conflicts without the support of production. But time and time again it aborted kino in the womb and we'll never know what could have happened if the beefs had been allowed to grow organically.

Boxing matches just make it worse. TJ has cardio, not courage.
